What's new

India-Noble NGO Greenpeace crumbles under Modi's Fascism- says satring at shutdown!

Is it true that parties in the South have channels of their own? I mean no shares stuff...full ownership? :what: Just watched a documentary on Indian media...
You didint know????????????
Now you go to Tamil nadu, every actor and every party has their own channels
Jaya TV
Sun TV
Captain TV
These are few examples......

It is true in the context of TN. However most people, even in rural areas have switched over to watching news channels without any party affiliation. There are 2 channels that are now very popular for news in TN - Thanthi TV and Puthiya Thalaimurai. However each channels have their biases. Thanthi seems a bit right wing. Puthiya Thalaimurai, although being owned by a businessman who heads a party that allied with BJP during the general elections, is notorious for it's leftist views and is in the center of the recent controversy over thaali (mangalsutra) removal. Thanthi is in the other end of the spectrum and it's two popular anchors - Rangaraj Pandey and Hariharan - are two of the best anchors I have ever seen on any channel. The Thapars, Sardesais and Goswamis should learn about journalism from these two.
If you have any Tamil speaking friend, you can watch this video and ask him/her to translate this for you.
The guy getting his a$$ violated is K.Veeramani, leader of DK, torch bearer of Periyar's politics.
Also this one is RP's interview with Modi (it's in Hindi-English and Tamil)

Nair has listed some of the channels without their affiliations. Here's a list of major Tamil Nadu parties and their affiliated Channels:
DMK - Kalaignar TV (Sun used to be DMK channel until the Alagiri controversy. Now they try to appear neutral, but biased against national parties).
AIADMK - Jaya TV
DMDK - Captain TV
PMK - Makkal TV
Congress - Vasanth TV
BJP - None

Why are you jumping up and down? Its a democracy, court is not under government control. And thats a very good thing. They will decide whats best according to the law. Next step, government will move Supreme court.

Its called a 'free judiciary' which you dont have in your country. To put it simply for you, as you dont have something like this in your country, its a battle between Gov of India and Green Peace, which the Supreme Court of India will decide who is correct according to the Laws of India.
