INDIA NEWS: Chinese latest Type 003 aircraft carrier is a threat to Indo-Pacific

they literally bought a finished Soviet Navy hull from Ukraine along with blueprints.
only for learning, maturing their design , improving their concept and designs, only first carrier is Russian design, this carrier is more closer to USN design rather than a Russian designs

I think 5 to 6 is enough for China, they can sail through in Atlantic ocean

The two older carriers (as part of Carrier battle groups), if permanently based in the Indian Ocean, would probably be enough to secure Chinese SLOCS between the Red Sea/Persian Gulf and the straits of Malacca, especially if based in Djibouti

India can't match the number of CBG from Chinese Navy, both monetarily and in terms of technology. That is why Indian Navy is cancelling the 3rd Carrier plan and instead investing in Nuclear Subs for area denial ..

The other development many PDF members missed was the recent test firing of Agni Prime missile. This missile is developed as a canister launched system which can be transported in a cargo tanker, but more importantly with CEP of 2m, to target CBG. Posted in South India, it will cover whole of Indian Ocean and deter any hostile CBG.. same game that Chinese trying to play against US navy ..

against indians all you need is patience and they will destroy their own equipment

you need a whole eco system of detect and tracking in order for the anti ship BM to work, we started during early 90s.

you need much more than that, otherwise, most decent mid-size countries with the support of US authorized GPS would have made things happen, but anyway.
India will not try to hunt down a CBG in Atlantic or Pacific Ocean, but in Indian Ocean, for which the current system provides more than enough coverage and accuracy ..

Ohh so means AGNI Prime is basically a carrier killer missile? Man this is a huge news..... I liked the way they did not give it a spot light in media.... Great news really....

ok, I'll take your claim with a big chunk of salt, despite that, does your bm has end phase maneuver trajectory? target is a moving object just so you know.

a little more hint here, China is currently working on two stealth bomber projects, one well known H20 and another not so
popular medium tactical bomber designated to counter the US navy's Distributed Lethality concept, so you might need to taken these into accounts.

AGNI Prime is designed as canister launched BM with capability of end phase maneuverability, CEP of 2m and capable of engaging moving targets, preferably navel targets. It all hints towards a CBG as a target. However, we are very much in the early phase of development and will take few years before operational deployment, which may coincide with Chinese 003 CBG. The first two CBGs from Chinese navy are not deployable in Indian ocean region due to lack of endurance and AWACS capabilities.

But more importantly, in IOR, Indian navy is the defensive force and will operate for shore based locations along with aerial assets. Just few month ago, IAF carrier out user test launch of Aerial Brahmos missile from Su- 30 MKI, with refueling and hit targets 4000+ km away from base locations.

Informative, but I guess the spiral of spear and shield will going up further more, as our aerial (bomber), naval platform (055,Sub) are going after both hypersonic/sub sonic low observe land attack, anti ship ballistic/cruise missiles.

India and humility does not rhyme. If it's really that, your government would have boasted by now. You need not just GPS for guidance, you need a near real time SAR, Imaging and ELINT like our Yaogan system. That's 50 plus sats, this does not include the beidou, 30+ sat and superior AI technology. A few Sat's doesn't allow this to happen mate.

Our satnav system is the most accurate on earth, read the MIT article on hyper accurate satnav at mm precision. That's something you can only dream of.
