India Needs to Join Asia's Emerging 'Chinese Order'

Why are you guys so confrontational anyway? There are no historic rivalries other than some piffling border wars over some mountain passes. Is it a race thing?

In this forum, yes. In real life, I don't think there's much hostility, though Indian media and politicians love to portray China as some sort of an enemy.

A very weak argument, considering Sub continent is a Dharmic land and the practices are originated here.

Bhuddha was born is Nepal or India is not clear, But his enlightenment happened in Bihar Bodgaya. His teachings were started here. Before Buddhism Indian sages used to do the same and also taught similar principles.
But Buddha made them popular.

Nepal is also part of the Sub cont. Arguing Buddha is Indian because he gained enlightenment and taught in India is as valid as saying Gandhi is British because he was educated in Britain and worked in S. Africa. There's no dispute, Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal.

How can we give up budhha...budhha is considered as eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu (Hindu god)

That's an oxymoronic claim made by Brahmin to gain popularity for Hinduism. Buddha was strongly against
Brahmins' Hinduism and the caste system, that was why he started Buddhism. After his death, Brahmins made Buddha part of their religion lol.

I will ignore the last 2 parts & answer for the 1st one only
Yes there is a precept ion here that chins is a threat which is true to some extent but that will change once trade improves
Think of it we don't have any historical baggage & sky will the limit Sino-Indian relations

Good that you acknowledge it. But I doubt trade alone will remove this perception if Indian media and politicians keep stoking up tension.

Historically the sub con were all different countries with different people, they do share a somewhat similar religion.
You'll have to get Buddhist authority to make that claim abt Buddha.

nothing but good will come out of deeper India/China ties.

as has been noted, there is no really bad blood between the people/culture as there is with our western neighbours.

China are already a economic superpower, India is full of potential and promise.. we should work together for a better world and a better life/economic upliftment for all our citizens (almost 40% of the worlds population)

I've said it before on this forum, but I want India to have no part in any sort of anti China 'pivot' in US foreign policy

south China sea ?.. none of our business

Kashmir ?.. not China's problem

aksai/arunachal ? .. can we not go to war over those ? :P

business>war

if only the Pakis would fall in line, we can all get together and make it the Asian millennium everyone talks about.

ohhh REALLY?? :omghaha:
Of course.. We never listened threat of US during 1971 war or during N bomb testing. We never took side of USSR during cold war. You may laugh your a$$ out but it is only Pakistan who takes order from US earlier (and still is) and now China's.

Most scholars regard Kapilavastu, present-day Nepal, to be the birthplace of the Buddha.[4][16][note 9][note 10] Other possibilities are Lumbini, present-day Nepal;[37][note 11] Kapileswara, Odisha, present-day India; [note 12] and Piprahwa, Uttar Pradesh, present-day India

From Wiki.

Secondly Gandhi is not famous as Barrister he is famous for his non violent movement , which is done in India. Wrong analogy.

Wikipedia? Try UNESCO.

I'll make it simpler, the point is, nationality is determined by country of birth, not where or what you did.

you have no idea or the difference between civilizational state and nationality.

Lumbini was independent kingdom not a state of nepal or india then...bcoz the term nepal or india are not there in 600 bc....

The sub con was an ancient civilization, but not a State.

Don't confuse nation-state with nationality. Nationality applies to all types of State.

They were all independent kingdoms. would be fair to say both Nepal and India have some claims on Buddhism.

Nepal is world's only Hindu nation where hinduism and budhism are not looked separately.Lord budhha was a reformer of Hindu society like casteism pagan stigmas .He never created any religion only gave good teachings which later coined as budhism.
To the topic ...India never stood in any order ...It has its own order...We may friend of some one, admire some ones progress but never stood in their order.
