I think you got it wrong. It is every individual's right to refuse to honour the national flag, or the national anthem. It is equally the right of the management of any institution to refuse admission to, or to expel any person from its premises for failing to observe the house rules.

The state has local laws regarding this apparently. I agree mob vigilantism is a slippery slope...everyone should have just called the cops instead.

Intolerance is on the rise in Indian occupied regions. This is the warning-these incidents are a warning of things to come and how it can be far worse. Remember once Fazlullah was a no body and could be caught by a single policeman rather than an army battalion in Swat. Take action now and save the people a lot of pain.

My family was right in choosing Pakistan though. The Indians condone this kind of thing in a kind of twisted sense of patriotism.

If you see a robbery being committed you have a responsibility to try and stop it. Shout, collect people.

When you see a fire you are required to take action to contain it. Save lives. Not call the fire depat and click on your Mobile to take videos.

Considering Maharashtra has a law which prevents people from committing disrespect to the Nation when the Anthem is being played, it is no surprise you do not understand the similarity between the two.

The job of ensuring the law is followed lies not only on the cops, but also on you. To follow it and asking others to follow it. And when they don't, you have a duty to prevent them from breaking the law.

I did not advocate vigilante justice. I do however think that they were wrong not to stand, but that the audience should have complained to the management and got them thrown out by the management.

Once again we are talking about private institutions not wild wild west. If someone misbehaves in a bar, you ask the the bouncers to throw him out, don't start fighting yourself. That way you prevent them from breaking the law without looking like a bunch of hooligans!
