Since when mother tongue in India become Hindi ....... Hindi is just one of 26 national languages

BJP is hell-bent on shoving Hindi down everyone's throats. A stupid, tasteless artificial language created by a Scottish servant of the East Indian Company, John Borthwick Gilchrist (1759-1841).

Did you know the artificial language called Hindi was actually created in Fort William, Calcutta? It neither has the melody and rhythm of Urdu nor the earthy composition of other Indian languages such as Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi (I don't know much about the South but I'm sure they are proud of their languages).

Who the hell knows the meaning of words like "aavedan patra" or "sankshiipt" o: I'm not even sure that's a word I think made it up)?

Also I hate the damn, annoying Devnagari script.

I believe it all comes down to what language one thinks in.
When I speak Hindi or Marathi, my thought process is still in English (even though my Hindi is quite fantastic if I may say so myself), I just cannot get myself to have an entire conversation without using English language fillers.
could also be that perhaps I don’t know the specific Hindi words for certain nouns and verbs.

And lastly, on the accent, i have an accent and wear it much like a badge of honor.
My issue with Indians is not so much about accents, but more to do with the sentence construction and delivery.
Half the time, I hear native Indians butchering all rules of sentence construction and even worse delivery in terms of getting the point across.
That’s what makes it so damn frustrating for me to understand a lot of my native countrymen when conversing in English.

Marathi isn't the same as Hindi. I have studied both in school. It's a world apart. Be proud of your mother tongue, don't allow the ******** to dictate terms to you.

My mother tongue is a mix of Punjabi and Bollywood Hindi. I was taught Urdu as a child. I speak a few words of Kashmiri.

Although I did learn Hindi and Marathi in school, I can't remember much of either. I absolutely hate Devanagri.

My preferred script for Urdu/Hindi is actually Nastaliq Roman script is just fine and that's what I generally use.

Nastaliq is the king of the scripts.

That is probably because you were educated in an English medium school all your life. I suffer from the same. My primary thought process is in English.

Though the medium will be the regional language but English will be taught from begining.

I studied in a private Christian schools back in 1970s. It has always been that way at least in the South.
