I find three subjects the most difficult to deal with. Islam ( whether with Western people or Muslims ), Isreal ( with Western people ) and India ( with Indians ).

Broaching these will elecit the same response. Mass posts, mostly bringing nothing constructive to the discussion but barely conceiled invective and disparaging tone.

If this was real life this would amount to be shouted out so that the discussion is closed or it is derailed. Those who do this do it precisely for that reason. They don't want their 'holy' cows dissected. By crying and making so much sound they end up smoking out the discussion.

This applies to all three subjects, Isreal, Islam and India. The methods used are exactly same by "guardians" of these subjects.

I am not going to bother replying to the tags I got which number almost 30. However I am going to open another thread and invite just few members to discuss some issues.

The title of the thread will be "Reification - India" and will involve I am hoping some real thinking as opposed to shouting matches. I am hoping @Nihonjin1051 will invigilate the thread. If I am not mistaken your in the field of psychology and very good position to provide valuable input.

I will try to participate as best as I can. My posting history here speaks for itself and I will make every effort to discuss a topic according to the standard we hope to achieve for PDF, not the ones that currently prevail here and you point out.

Let me stake out a few statements: I do not hate India, and I do not hate Israel. In fact, I do not hate anything or anybody. And, surprise, I am a patriotic Pakistani as well as a proud Pakistani-American (shock! ). Also, I believe in Islam as one of the greatest religions in the world, but at the same time I also respect all other religions and beliefs just the same. I sincerely believe that all religion belongs in the personal space and has no business in society-wide business. As long as these basics are recognized as the basis for a polite discussion, it would be good, in my view. Others may disagree with this, of course.

The "Isreal" subject is not worth discussing here because almost everybody will agree with what I have to say so no point in just getting lots of "high fives". "Isreal" needs discussing in Western forums and trust me the response is as fanatical as is on "Islam and secularism".

So shall I run what I want to say through you first so you and rest are happy. I don't come here to please anybody. I come here to explore ideas even if they sound crazy to you or rest and I don't particularly care what you think.

I don't know you or anybody else here and most probably never will. This gives me a platform to "think aloud, explore" when in real life you tend to be surrounded by people who think pretty much like yourself. These places offer a possibility to get your thoughts dissected from a very cross section of people which you could not do in real life unless possibly if you went into politics.

Sir, there is a cabal here with declared personal hatred against me, with many more sympathizers. We all know the that India was made for the profit by some English shareholders. It was a company called "East India trading" that made India that you know today. The question here is should Indian's do Puja to East India Company because it made India for them.

So should Indian's be thanking this company ( no it is not Mcdonald's ) that did fast food equivalent of making a country? I bet the Indian's wish it had been Mcdonals Fast Food franchise that had come and Made India. That way they would have secretly been enjoying Big Mac meals since 1750 and India would have been called "Big Mac country". No such luck instead India got fathered by boring English "East India Company".

Before East India Company came along to make few pounds most Hindus were playing muppets to Muslims. So much for the Hindutwas of today. So most of these Hindus ought to be thanking the British for giving them "Azadi" from the Muslims overlords. Had they not come maybe today the Hindu's would still have been playing muppets to Muslim rule?

If you find difficult to discuss India with Indians .... then some thing is wrong in your argument or you are in some kind of denial !
