Wouldn’t Pakistan have to spend on Space research first to even start this “race”?
And just so we are clear, in your example, Pakistan is USA and India Russia, am I right? lol
Just wishful thinking

.
And our defence budget would have been between just 8-9%
]

go through the links again, which i provided. you defence expenditure is 15.5 % compare to our 17%. don't bring gdp into the picture, you are trying to make it hard for yourself to comprehend what i am stating. and yes the budget defecits are also documented, the extra expenditures are unrelated to military expenditure. now pleaso stop replying to, i cant entertain bakht retard-ism anymore. If you wanna live in a delusion do so, but don't try to propagate false info...

.
I hope u realise this is because of Geography of India and not because of demography.

It could be Odisha and west Bengal and some more areas...if you are mentioning the importance of sea and how far it is from perceived dangers...

It is about the demographics I think...the people and the place.

Can't hold India alone in that bracket. From USA to Brazil to Phillipines - the general population has had a strong right wing tilt on the back of a muscular nationalist driven campaign.

In India case it is different, it a kind of a revisionist, a renaissance, a vendetta(against perceived Islamic destruction/Christianity), going back to Vedic roots and rediscovering Hindutva Hinduism...

And many a times more fraught with extremist dangers, fascism, supremacist ideologue...you name it. And the worst thing is that people tend to get blinded by all these prevalent things.

.
I will congratulate India anyway. So India Walon, congratulations. Good work.

.
Perfectly said. As mr.katju mentioned said 90% of indians are idiots.

Think they are naive, gullible, innocent and in their naivette they are being used and abused, exploited and managed...to put it succinctly. Calling them Idiots is not the right thing...a bit simplistic.

Think the system is there in place for all this to happen...the mentioned adjectives above.

Both sides have a base. If you look at numbers Congress got 120 million votes. Bjp got 220 million votes. It will swing back.

I seriously doubt you have any economic knowledge but just regurgitate what is shown to you on news without understanding of the said numbers and percentages.

India defence budget = 15.5 % of total indian budget
Pak defence budget = 17% of total pakistani budget

i dnt knw abcs of economy or military spending, its not rocket science its simple math. pls stop shit posting...

.
This is india the shithole of the wold better they all move to moon

.
The thread is about Indian excellence in space tech and people here are bickering over nationalism and budget!

.
I think there is definitely a potential for it once you understand how to land on extra terrestial bodies.

Perhaps better for ISRO would have been to search out a NEO ( Near Earth Object ), i.e. a passing asteroid and attempt to make a soft landing on it.

This would have been practise for future landings on the asteroids of the Asteroid Belt for mining purposes.

Im pretty certain a lot of these countries possess the tech, but choose not to engage in individual space programs because of wastage of resources.

Well, there is a British company called Reaction Engines which is building a horizontal take-off and landing space plane called Skylon.

The credit for India investing in science and technology from Day 1 of independence goes to the much maligned Nehru. Today he is the favorite villain of Modi fans - but his foresight gave India its technological success. The guys who oppose him today would have spent the $ in vanity projects.

Nehru wanted the Indian citizens to develop scientific temper and abolish the superstitions and regressive attitudes that unfortunately were part of the Indian traditions.

@Protest_again

here you go learn from the RAW mouthpiece takla bakht. Go through it may now you will know what I was talking about.

15.5% compared to 17%

hope you learned something new today. This is my last comment on this particular topic. its hard to undo bakht education, but hope i did my part to re-educate.

.
I am happy if you want to stay uneducated. I have enough understanding of economics to not feel insecure to leave the discussion as is. Thank you. Fare well.

lewl ?? insecurity nopes, just tired of retarded behavior, its like i am conversing with a 10th fail. forget about me just go through the links i provided or the video i shared. its simple maths, should be enough to make even a bakht like you to comprehend what i am stating.

i see your replies as annoyance, "that hey although he told me that this would be last reply I have made him reply me again". they lack substance and logic.

If you are egoistic, then don't even listen to me but atleast listen to the RAW mouth-piece takla bakth which made a video on military spending. its a 20 mins video i know you are busy man doing nothing, but please take some time out of your usual procrastinating activities watch the video and then back to comment.

15.5%? are you negating it?
17% are you negating it? just for your pleasure lets agree on it to be 18%

but the criteria has to be the same both are budget figures and both are documented.

Edit: Also why remove your own comments and I am the one insecure here lewl? And if they were removed by a mod then there should be at-least a ban/warning because they would have removed it for reason (i.e propagating false info)

Regarding the op, I would absolutely love to see the whole of India land on the moon, forget to adjust its pressure suit as it emerges from its moonlander, and go "pop poppety poppppp!!!".

The massive gap left on earth due to India's departure would become part of the Indian Ocean....but of course, we would have to rename the whole thing to the Pakistani Ocean due to the absence of that country whose name I have already forgotten.

You cannot even comprehend English now? I said I am not insecure to need education on economics from you. Rest of your post is gibberish. Please don't quote me.
