Lets fool indians into a space race. Just like the Americans did with the Russians and bankrupt India lesser the Rafales they get the better.

Wouldn’t Pakistan have to spend on Space research first to even start this “race”?
And just so we are clear, in your example, Pakistan is USA and India Russia, am I right? lol

Resources are finite, even in India. They should be prioritised. What great benefit will India give to it's nation repeating a feat the Americans did in the 60's? Why has nobody else been compelled to send men to the moon? This is a vanity project, much like that really tall statue they built.

What security benefits will a moon landing provide? What benefit did it provide the USA? This is something they did nearly 60 years ago.
I think there is definitely a potential for it once you understand how to land on extra terrestial bodies. We should not marginalize because some has not done it. European countries don't need to do it because USA did it. There seems to be a strong enough bond between them to share and exchange knowledge.

I am not saying we should follow suit, but we should not marginalize their accomplishment. Yes we are not in the position to do these projects but we should not pick flaw on other nations priorities. We have our own issues that we need to work on.

By the way not having the space program on the list versus having it low on priority list are two different things. Our space program is technically not on our list of priorities it seems.

Think of it this way, the 150 million odd amount spent on this moon landing is not going to eliminate poverty in India, but at least it’s not going to purchasing an aircraft for defense.

That’s one less offensive weapon Pak has to worry about.

Its laughable that you're not buying jets in future for defense :lol: RAFALE is coming, there is a rumors second RAFALE deal is almost done, MMFG-2 tender will open soon for new single engine jet, you Need 5th gen jet but your ACMA is no where in the horizon you might purchase F-35 for your 5th gen requirement @Peshwa :crazy::crazy::crazy:

Overestimating budget to show defence spending as low. Lets wait till the year end to see how much of budget deficit there be in 2019-20. In 2018-19, it was 8.9 percent of GDP.

Overview of finances
This forms 16.6% of the central government's budget of 2018-19 and 2.2% of India's estimated GDP. The allocation to defence Ministry is the highest allocation among all central ministries.

mentally challenged? no one here is talking about as percentage of gdp. Here the comment was made on %age of the total budget which is approximately the same for both the countries.

Over-estimating? its not like the budget is made for the first time. If there are some diversions from the figure the budget has to be renewed which comes in the form of "mini-budgets". And yes there are budget deficits and that happens with every country...

Just stop, it just shows how your mind has been forged by bakht propaganda.

So the point is, at least this 150 million will not buy an extra jet.
Hence ones less to worry about no?
Your compatriots are saying **** the space program, spend on defense.
I’m saying this is a positive for Pak. Not that you guys are worried about our defense spending or acquisition or anything.

Then why you say in your above post India will not buy jet from other countries why we shouldn't worries about your military spending/acquisition, You (INDIA) always threaten Pakistan , You'r,e the Biggest mess/Threat for the peace of the Subcontinent @Peshwa

India lands on moon tonight 1:30am.
I congratulate all Indians but really should Pakistan b happy for this Historic achievement of our arch-rival. Or should pakistan b jealous of this???

Being a pakistani, if i become Happy then i will be definitely declared as a TRAITOR even then i feel happy over this achievement bcz of 2 reasons:

At least now south Asian gets its representation on Moon. There are lots of regions but SA is on Moon. This is especially good thing also because they reach by themselves.

We, unfortunately, developed all our responses in response to an Indian action so i wish this achievement will force us to turnaround our destiny this time as well...

Lastly, i will say we're between 2 nations which reached to moon bcz they reached for moon so it's a pressure mounting event as well for our survival, growth, existence n defense. Now it's upto Pak either it should choose Light by Following india or remain in darkness bcz of arrogance or benightment.

Dear brother, This is indeed a time of excitement because the things that we do to to experience and understand the universe are above all ethnicities, religion and and prejudices.

The differences between the two nations are enormous: both the nations have different views of life, life after death, moral values and views of the creation of the universe. But you see, projects like exploring the space are a way of understanding the creation of the universe in itself.

Scientific feats are to be celebrated not only by the author nation, but the whole humanity. Scientific progress is the pride of all humanity.

For example during the Cold War, USSR and USA were in a race to the moon, and USA did win the race in the end. However, at the same time, the intelligentsia of the USA were extremely respectful to the scientists and the Cosmonauts (USSR equivalent of the Astronaut) of the USSR because of their research and sacrifices, from which NASA learnt a lot. Even today NASA give them credit, and laud their advancements in the field of space exploration.

For reference, the total budget of Pakistan is about 18% of GDP. So you can understand the motivation for overestimation.

Total defence budget of Pakistan is about 4% of Pak GDP, it was earlier 3.5% of GDP and the increase is there because of lowering of GDP nominal in dollar value due to rupee depreciation(a simple Google search will answer your questions).

And this year Pakistan has capped the defence budget to the last year level....also yearly budget allocation for defence is a different thing...will also decline substantially as next year budget will be higher as the tax collection has risen significantly.

When the hell did I say that with regards to India not buying any jet? I said specifically that this 150 million will buy one less jet.

Regarding the bold, it’s easy to absolve your own nation of any wrong doing clearly. Do you really believe your nation is peace loving? That all of its actions, past and present are purely to bring peace and stability to the subcontinent? Lol

150 million USD is quite low and India has the cost arbitrage and can use the economy of scale compared to say US, such project could have cost a billion dollar for US.

At the same time why do EU countries like Germany, France, UK, Italy, and other with a per capita income of 55,000 USD are not undertaking any space missions like this?? and India going full throttle with it...there are answers like it is for defence purpose/future aspects/India firmly in space and lots of positive connotations meant for the Indian masses, govt..

Above all it do serve some kind of solace, a motivation factor...like an opium for the masses, the chest thumping and the bragging that entails these prestige projects. Intl' dimension as well...
