I concur!Things have improved a ton since then.
California does not want development. They shipped all their factories to China. Tell me something new.
What do you need a subway for an iPhone factory or Dell PC factory ?
the things you need for massive port, roads/railroads, telecommunication links and power generation facilities
everything exists in bit and pieces in India and rest of the world not in integrated seamless manner as in China
it is not too hard to make them.
Even for labor force, it'll take at least a decade to train to obtain a large skilled workforce, it costs moe money than infras.
Years but not decades
Yes liberal left congressi islamists are biggest roadblocks to the development .All our socialist mentality and red tapes needs to be removed.
India Is Trusted And Stable But ‘More Expensive’ Than China, Vietnam For Businesses: US Trade Body
In an interview to ABP Live, Atul Keshap, president of the US-India Business Council says American firms expect greater ‘transparency, predictability’ in policies in the upcoming Union Budget 2023.

Atul Keshap, president of the US-India Business Council says American firms expect greater ‘transparency, predictability’ in policies in the upcoming Union Budget 2023.
New Delhi: India continues to be ‘more expensive’ compared to China, Mexico or Vietnam for American businesses even as they expect greater “transparency and predictability” in the upcoming finance budget, according to Atul Keshap, President, US-India Business Council (USIBC) at the US Chamber of Commerce.
In an exclusive interview to ABP Live, Keshap said while American firms operating in India are doing robust business in the country, easing of regulations and more predictability in policies will bring in more investments from the US to India and that remains one of the main demands from the upcoming finance budget.
“Any investor is going to look for ease of doing business, very transparent regulatory practices, predictability in regulation, level-playing field and speedy resolution of disputes. This is not rocket science. This is how the Singaporeans developed their economy into a titan. They studied regulatory practices in the world, they figured out which ones are the best, then cobbled out something even better and they built it and people flock in. There are more American companies invested in Singapore than in the entire rest of ASEAN,” Keshap told ABP Live.
“There have been some successes (in India). There are absolutely happy companies that are enjoying it really well. But India is still more expensive than China. Logistics costs are very much more than China ... This is India’s golden moment. It is a trusted, stable, massive, multi-layered democracy that is widely admired around the world but compared to Vietnam, Mexico, Ohio or China, India is still a little more expensive and because it’s a democracy a little more complicated… So regulatory coherence is very important,” he added.

HmmWhat he did not say was that these go-murkh idiots running India nowadays have no clue how to attract investments from solid companies.
Any foreign company going into India goes there MAINLY trying to sell products to Indians.
Property damages in strike are unfortunate but it a reality... manufacturers like Foxconn. Pegatron, Compell, Flextronics, Clestica, Quanta and many more has seen worst in China duirng workers agitations. You severely underestimate the red tape that keeps the smooth flow of goods in India using logistics.
Every state has their own fees and octroi you have to pay in India to get past state borders.
Often you will need to go through three or more state borders to get to a sea port.
Add to that low productivity and back-dated labor laws preventing smooth hiring and firing of people.
With the low living wages in India which is not sustainable for a family to live a comfortable life, often they are not paid on time, with three months of arrears. resulting in riot scenes like this. This is the Wistron factory in Bangalore, assembling iPhones and parts.
Nice place to invest - mera Bharat Mahaan !
As usual bhakts are hiding the main issues in India. It will never equal China in manufacturing.
Chinese low wage industries will go to either Pakistan or Bangladesh. We don't have useless laws prosecuting Chinese companies for no reason.
Don't lie. Don't brag. okay?Property damages in strike are unfortunate but it a reality... manufacturers like Foxconn. Pegatron, Compell, Flextronics, Clestica, Quanta and many more has seen worst in China duirng workers agitations.
Hmm... if you are not able to hear truth. I won'tDon't lie. Don't brag. okay?
India's problem is dishonesty and boasting. Indians never do anything seriously. They pursue "short-term benefits." Very little R&D.CA is one of the worlds biggest economy. But it very inefficient and poorly managed. I hope you guys see light thru the dark tunnel soon!
About the subject, India is indeed more expansive than most of the manufacturing hubs (tech industry) e.g. China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand. We've done some calculations few years back and India proved to be 40% more expansive than Malaysia and 28% more than China. Added with special incentives and tax rebates provide by those country India lost big time. I was amazed by Malaysia offer to provide project team (no Malaysian Govt. expanse) to manage manage and support approval, hiring support, free interim offices etc..
Indian is on right track but a long way to go.
Here's the latest figuresIndia's problem is dishonesty and boasting. Indians never do anything seriously. They pursue "short-term benefits." Very little R&D.
In the whole world. India and Africa are not much different.

So please don't brag that India is close to Indonesia and Malaysia.... They are much more advanced than India
The duty of the modern world is to help the people of India to know the truth.Hmm... if you are not able to hear truth. I won't
let's stick to the topic!
Improved a lot now .2017-18
In past 70 years Liberal left islamic congress of Nehru gave a bad culture of communist trade unions which were against development and progress , now hindus have chosen own govt under modi ji , now such criminals who were assisted by agencies from enemy countries are being taken care of by bulldozers of administration .You severely underestimate the red tape that keeps the smooth flow of goods in India using logistics.
