NEW DELHI: India is in talks with "certain" countries in Africa for possible export of the indigenous Light Combat Helicopter even as the Defence Ministry has set a target of $2 billion worth of exports over the next two years.

"We are in talks with certain countries in Africa who have evinced interest in the LCH. With great value for money, the helicopter is an attractive buy for many countries," a senior defence official said.

Asked why the countries would be interested in a chopper which is yet to get final certification, the official said, "The certification is a formal process. The countries interested in the LCH in the current form do not need high features like air to air missiles. For them turret gun along with some other features work."

. .
Well remember Equador suspended Dhruv due to frequent crashes. A helicopter cannot glide like an aeroplane so it needs maximum reliability.

Yes they did , there is even a video of one crash on YouTube. Crash was massive but pilot servived. That can tell you about bird.
But after all it's opinions. Pick what you like

But that happen because they did not maintain the helicopters. They had canceled the maintenance contract with HAL.
If the quality of the aircraft is poor then there would have been so many crashes India operates almost 200 of these now.

Well we have so good relations with our brother that there will be no misunderstanding......!!!!!!
Keeping in view the weight of that toy it cant fly it is only for babies to play.....:bounce:

In fact, there is exists no second attack helicopter on the planet which can match or exceed the service ceiling of LCH. So much for your "CANT FLY" Remark.
