What's new

India has recently conducted field trial tests with new local-made Arjun Mk-II main battle tank

Areyou saying that your JF 17 is not good enough to be inducted in Chinese Air Force even it is very cheap ....:coffee:

JF-17 does not pass the range requirement set by the PLAAF. J-10B which is Rafale / Typhoon sized covers all of India without aerial refueling when taking off from Tibet which is next to India. :p: JF-17 is an extremely advanced plane fitted with DSI. When will Tejas get DSI to replace its traditional air intakes which don't look as good? :coffee:

No, dumb ****.

He is saying that JF-17 doesn't fit into the Chinese doctrine of air power....just like F-16 block 60 doesn't fit into the doctrine of U.S airpower.

In this case, F-16 Block 60 does, but F-20 does not due to lack of range. This is why the USAAF does not induct light fighters like F-20 and used F-5 only in very small numbers mainly to boost F-5's export image.

No, right now, U.S airforce is evolving to stealth and pilot-less era. So F-16 block 60 doesn't fit into their airpower doctrine..which is more and more stealth and UAV based, connected with satellites with global reach.

but bhartis won't understand all of this..since they themselves have nothing to show but failure..their arjunk and pathetic failure tejas

I have a feeling the USAAF will soon replace Lockheed's troubled F-35 with Lockheed's F-16E which is a similar sized plane :p:

Nahh..unless stealth is integrated into block 60...F-35 will go on.

U.S has no hurry ...its far ahead of everyone..so they can take their time..

USA is not going for F 16 block 60 because they are replacing all aircraft with fifth generation aircraft.......But China is still inducting 4th Gen aircraft and in your point of view Jf 17 is 4.5 gen aircraft so why china is denying it

J-10B and Block 2 JF-17 which both have AESA are considered 4.5 generation like Block 2 F/A-18E. F-35 is still many years away. J-20 might beat it as the 3rd plane fitted with DSI. As I explained, JF-17 does not pass the range criterion set by the PLAAF. J-10B has the necessary range to patrol the China seas.

As I explained, JF-17 does not pass the range criterion set by the PLAAF. JF-17 can strike India up until Delhi, but since India is east heavy with more area east of Delhi compared to west of Delhi, only J-10B can strike all of India east of Delhi when taking off from Tibet which is next to India.
God what a foolish explaination...............attach drop tanks air refueling probe to JF 17 and induct air tanker to increase range...By the way the range of JF 17 is 3000 KM right? Even range of J10 is 550KM without air refueling

In combat situations, fighter jets cannot always depend on aerial tankers. In air superiority configuration, light fighters like JF-17 and Tejas armed with 4 BVR can only carry 1 drop tank under the fuselage. Combat radius is different from range. Even F-35 only has slightly over 1,000 km combat radius.

Back to the topic. Isn't Arjun supposed to be fitted with Israeli Trophy active protection system by now? :coffee:

you reply is funny than anything. Anyway JF-17 block2 will have no AESA.

No AESA? We'll see about that. It's already in serial production. Rolling off the assembly lines in a few months. The nose is also changed, of course. :p: Isn't Tejas Mk 2 supposed to get AESA?

AESA is only planned for block3. Though block2 will have inflight refueling probe.

The probability Block 2 has AESA is 90%, not having AESA is 10%. After all, China already has AESA technology. Anyway, JF-17 Block 1 already qualifies as 4.5 generation even though it lacks AESA due to having DSI, which no other fighter jet has 8-)
