Better or no offer from China is no matter. Only things matter is we cannot buy any weapons from a country we have border with. If it is India, then its an absolute no. Population and military will not accept the Indian offer. The offer is almost like interfering with our domestic policy. There will be a military revolt if BD govt. decides to purchase even a bolt from India.Sure, China will come up with a better offer. No string attached.

if it is Shivalik-class frigate class or Project 17A-class frigate class, then I am up for it
our bamboo more effective than indian weapons....s... off indians
I am pretty sure there wont be any significant purchases, if any. We can only talk if they offer us Brahmos and something significant of that nature.
Neplai ho tapai?BrahMos huh? Just some things that your military chiefs would like to highlight from a pure defence perspective.
1- Each BrahMos costs the equivalent of a Bugatti Veyron; Even an order of 100 missiles will seriously rattle your defence budget in the short and medium run.
2- As India and Russia are members of MTCR, neither countries can give you a missile more than 300 Km range. The only countries that come within that range for you are us, Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar.
3- None of these countries are downright hostile to the nation state of Bangladesh (as a country and not due to whatever religious sentiments some members here display). Myanmar has some occasional tiffs, and there maybe some local level tensions on some border points with us, but nothing to justify the purchase of something with such range limits and high costs.
Although you are most welcome to ask for it and we don't mind as it is revenue for both us and the Russians, but what will you use it for?

Are you sure? Are you sure sure sure? I mean some Indians here will have hard time to digest it. Especially the member you replied.Brahmos has already been offered to the BN as part of the coastal defence tender. Offers have been recieved from China, Russia, Italy and india...BN is still in the process of evaluating the options.

leave others and talk about Brahmos here...Yes, but the the current naval purchase order has the coastal defence system rather low in priority right now. The main aim is to increase the surface fleet (frigates, corvettes, LPCs), establishment of sub-surface elements (subs, sub-bases) and a naval air wing (helicopters, fixed wing and UAVs).
