India has no role in Afghan security issues, says UK Ambassador to Afghanistan William Patey.



Patey called on the National Assembly Standing Committee on foreign Affairs. He said that afghan people considered that Pakistan’s role was vital than India. He admitted Pakistan’s reservations on India’s interference in Afghanistan.



They also discussed Pakistan role in war on terror. The UK envoy to Pakistan was also present on the occasion.

Last I heard the Afghans want our help in matters of security and defence......

Dont see how the UK has any say in swaying Afghan opinion....nevertheless....lets see how things pan out...

At the end of the day, Indian investment has to be protected at all cost......whether the west likes it or not...

We are already training in the academies. There will be further co operation on arming them soon.

Well of course the West can try to push India to limit its role, but it will obviously come with a price....

There is only so far the West can push India, especially when they have equally to gain from keeping India as making things easier for them in Afghanistan...
