What's new

India, France ink metro rail pact

saw the construction in full swing few months back.. IMHO, every subsequent metro should be better than the previous one.. the way these other cosmopolitan metros are keeping Delhi metro as a standard and trying to achieve a fraction of it's efficiency and grandeur is unfortunate !

yes..l &t has taken the job seriously work is going fast..we need it more than ever..happy with the progress..may be we'll be seeing it most likely by 2016

in HYD i don't think the traffic situation is that bad.. in bangalore and Delhi and mumbai, the situation is horrible to say the least..

.
They are just funding part of the project. India now has the expertise and technology to build and operate metro systems on its own.

Awesome new seems like our two nations are moving full steam ahead and I have no doubt it will lead to a MDP soon enough.

Also I know that India wants France to work on the super fast trains along with Germany and Japan. And Indian poster's would know that France Japan and Germany are the 3 leading counties when it comes to tech and development of the SFT.

.
good in initiative.
and I am still waiting for the completion of Mumbai metro

Is french support to the project limited to financial help only or they are transferring some technology as well.
BTW france have legendary TGV system which till date holds the record (along with Japanese Bullet trains) of having no accident ever. I wish they help us in proposed high speed networks between cities like Mumbai-Ahemadabad, Chennai_Bangaluru etc.

Line 1, also referred to as Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar (VAG) corridor, of the Mumbai Metro is part of the rapid transit rail system for the city of Mumbai, India. It will consist of 12 stations from Versova to Ghatkopar. The line connects the eastern and western suburbs of Mumbai.[1] It will cost approximately 3,893 crore (US$708.53 million) and is operated by Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd.[2] The 11.07 km line will be fully elevated and is scheduled to begin operations in August 2013

Yes the safety record of our TGV is a very proud thing for our nation. I am sure France would gladly help India if they wanted to build a TGV I think in a nation like India it would come in very handy.

I heard the Chinese want the contract for Indias TGV but I hope the government say away from them.
