India finds route to Kabul via Pakistani seaports

And what does afghanistan plan to export to india and which it does not like to export to rest of the world?

Charrass :P on a serious note for trade and getting benefit out of it peace and stability in Afghanistan is the most important otherwise giving trade route or even free trade, wont help in anyway. Rather the goods will made their way into Pakistani markets damaging our own trade further.

Again... .what minister is saying just a soothing attempt and i doubt it is the true picture!

why parliament was not taken into confidence.... i remember in past such attempts had been rejected by parliament.... what was the compelling reason to go against the national?

The govt should come clean and give on solid official statement. Media is not dumb to report without knowing anything.

I doubt that the Govt is fooling the Pakistani public by rebutting its earlier claims.

This is serious and the parliamentarians should take up the issue in assembly

Hey Guys,
is this news correct?

------------------------
Now india could trade with Afganistan by making use of pakistans seaport as well as Pakistans Air-space

The Pak-Afghan pact was signed between Pakistan and Afghanistan under pressure from the USA on July 18. Under this pact, Pakistan will provide transit trade between Afghanistan and India through its air space.

Pakistan had denied its land route to India but it agreed to provide air space which may benefit the latter but will cause damage to Pakistan's security as well as its economy.

India has been successful in attaining Pakistani air space for trade with Afghanistan by coaxing the US to put pressure on Pakistan.

Both India and Afghanistan stand to gain while Pakistan is bound to be at a loss in more ways than one.

The government seems to have taken an important decision overnight by approving and signing the deal without consulting the parliament, leave alone the nation. Is this how foreign policy decisions are taken by a democratic government?

What is the difference between a dictator and a democratic government then?

Is there any need for India to negotiate further when it has acquired what it wanted? It never holds discussions over India-held Kashmir which it claims to be its internal issue.

It has been said that Afghanistan would facilitate Pakistan a transit trade route to Central Asian states. Did Pakistan really need a transit route to these countries via Afghanistan when we have China on our north which can easily give us access?

Last but not the least the media stated that Pakistan denies land access to India, but conveniently evaded the news that Pakistan agrees to provide air space to India.

We must not allow our airspace as it can create lots of security issues for us!!!!

. .
THIS IS ALL FALSE, TRADE AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED BUT INDIA IS N-O-T GOING TO USE OUR AIRSPACE OR SEAPORTS. AFGHAN GOODS WILL BE DELIVERED TO INDIA BY PAKISTAN BUT NOT VICE VERSA. PAKISTAN IS NOT GOING TO ASSIST INDIA IN SALES TO AFGHANS

THESE INCOMPETENT PAKISTANI REPORTERS NEED TO BE FIRED.

it makes no sense for india to use our seaports or airspace. think logically people.

these pakistani reporters must be agents of r.a.w. (kidding)

.
Thank you kerry-lugar bill for this, no wonder there was so much negativity in certain sections of the Pakistan military in getting this signed.

This time Army is being kept on the sidelines contrary to the previous round of talks held in Washington where Kiyani led the team, as US knows it is hard to negotiate with the Army, while they can very easily press the civilian setup as they have no experience and know how about how to deal with the US and dependent on the US for their survival.

Kiyani is a living legend? Just out of curiosity, who is more popular in Pakistan - Kiyani or Musharraf? I know who is more charismatic (though to be fair, we have hardly seen much of Kiyani).

Cheers, Doc

A legend in the sense of military accomplishments which have been done in the last 2 years or so with minimal casualties and having restored the publicly bad image of the Army, thanks to Musharaf for that.

One of the most professional soldier in our history.

I know it is a uniquely Pakistani trait to always speak ill of all your past leaders, in an environment where once a leader is dethroned, he is usually killed or exiled or both.

But what exactly do Pakistanis have against Musharraf bro? Help us understand.

We Indians have no love lost for him. But I think most of us grudgingly agree that he was one of your slightly saner and stronger leaders in the past 20-30 odd years.

And all said and done, at least he had some class!

Cheers, Doc

Both India and Pakistan as far as I know have reciprocal use of each others airspace. So I dn't seewhats suprising here.
