That always seemed like the best choice, I honestly never understood India's insistence of holding the MMRCA competition.

The MMRCA was meant to give India a stopgap advanced medium multirole fighter til the LCA and India's 5th gen were put into production, but it's been years since the MMRCA competition occurred, and the LCA is almost complete. The 5th gen is also soon going to go into production within the decade, so as far as the MMRCA deal is concerned, it's too expensive; not to mention pointless.

If I remember correctly, last year on the same day it was @Koovie who made an April fool thread about the Rafale deal being cancelled, much to the shock of several Indians. This time round, I thought that news of purchasing it would be more of a shocker. Who will create a thread about it next year?
