The highlighted part is incorrect.
You are equating GSO and GTO.
GSO is a perfect circular orbit while GTO is a highly elliptical orbit.
a GTO is used to put a satellite into a GSO...the perigee of the GSO is used to launch the satellite from a GTO to a GSO...one of the three ways you can put a satellite into orbit.
but why the heck is everyone discussing this?
we know how to put geo-sync sats...what has that gota do with ICBMS?
