Money is not the only criteria, as long as the project is a success all is well. Russia is a trusted ally, they have given us more than we asked for and stood by us when we needed them.

I agree with you. India should wait inline to get f-35 as PAKFA can suffer long delay and/or degraded capability. Russia is a shell of Soviet Union.

I love to see F-35C for Indian Navy, But I dont know what other Indian Members think about it.

I love to see 100 F-35C for Indian Navy. Even If United States wants them to keep it in separate bases like pakistan does for F-16, I personally think India should agree for it, because Numerous air bases in South India are vacant. F-35C will Tilt the strategic balance in India's Favor. Regarding Delays i expect it I am 100% sure. We wont have FGFA before 2022. My concern is about ageing Mig-27 fleets, Either India has to replace it with SU-37 Aircrafts or India has to have a Joint venture with Boeing to Produce a customized F-15 Strike Eagle variant. Lockheed Martin offered us F-16IN, but if Boeing offers a similar variant in F-15Strike Eagle with enhanced stealth feautures. I personally feel we need to go for it.

F35 series, is not suitable for India, US historically has never has shown any concern for India's security. US has actively armed and continues to arm a country whose entire defence setup is aimed at India. US has consistently provided our adversaries with technology and platforms endanger our security. We should not arm any of our services with US origin "key equipment".

Dedicated ground attack aircrafts will be replaced by multirole a/c. have some patience, and do not underestimate Indo-russo jv's, MKI is a standing evidence, FGFA will rule the skies once operational, so right now we dont need to worry.

You are correct that only US can supply that next generation hardware and India should rely in the US for them. 2022would be a merciless fr Russia to induct PAKFA. India will need to wait even longer. By then US will be ready to ly the 6th generation plane.
