India clamps down on Facebook, Twitter

You see, this kind of thing can only happens in China, because they are big, bad, and evil. If it happens in India, it's because the government just want to "read these website" and there is no harm in it. Hypocrisy or double standard, I don't know which one to call

I think one calls its as a reading comprehension problem. which means the lack of ability to read and understand.

There is a huge difference between cracking down and spying. Gov has the right to spy, for national security reasons. Who knows if some sino-pak terrorists are using facebook to spread their messages of attacking or bomb blasting ....... So its better to spy than being sorry.

Valid point? Do you understand the difference between freedom of expression and privacy and how they apply to national security? Privacy doesn't trump national security.
According to you, under "national security" every eligible Indian nationals in the US should be rounded up and put in concentration camp so they can be properly "monitored" all the time. Is that the "national security" you are talking about? Who are you kidding? Under this "national security" everything and every actions taking by the government can be justified and every rights suspended. Do you even remember how the Jewish Holocaust started?

If government decides to shut down or censorship something because it fears criticism, that is violating basic rights. But it can "monitor" and "arrest" if it has genuine cause (national security).
It's depending on the government, isn't it? What if all the Indians are deemed threat to the US, should you all be "monitored" and "arrested".

There is this soldier sitting in prison for selling top secret military information to wiki-leak.
"selling" military info to wiki-leak?? last time I checked he voluntarily gave it to them, and bunch of scandalous diplomatic documents caused embarrassment to the US government, and he was arrested on "national security" ground.

Gov has the right to murder... Gov has the right to torture... Gov has the right to rape... Gov has the right to kidnap... oh Thank you great Indian government, you keep everyone SAFE.

.
So, how does it monitor these? I expect that warrants must be issued by court to get access to this data else this is open to abuse. The phone tapping cases are a good example of how these powers are abused.

.
^Remember the "Patriot Act" from the US, I don't think the government needs warrants to access data.

Seriously, you need to stop embarrassing yourself.
