Monitoring, is in no way against freedom of expression. All countries have access to stuff posted on the net by their citizens, that does not mean they are denied freedom to post.

So are you agreeing that the government should video tape you making love to your girlfriend, and upload to the internet, so that everyone can share it. But if I were to start saying ''ahmedis should be killed'' and next day ahmedi doctor gets murdered, that needs to be stopped and is not covered by freedom of speech. You in Pakistan should realise it and must do some monitoring yourself.

Valid point? Do you understand the difference between freedom of expression and privacy and how they apply to national security? Privacy doesn't trump national security. If government decides to shut down or censorship something because it fears criticism, that is violating basic rights. But it can "monitor" and "arrest" if it has genuine cause (national security). In US, if you rant about hurting President, you will get arrested and go to prison. There is this soldier sitting in prison for selling top secret military information to wiki-leak. Freedom of speech, democracy, privacy might be new concept for you but you might want to read about them before posting illogical conclusions. What they mean, how they are applied, what is forbidden and what is not.
