Prepared or not India will stand no chance and there's no point of war when there's very little animosity if exists at all between China and India. Why should India concentrate about going to war with a country that's much more powerful and richer than India while India is just starting the process of industrialisation? Quite sure Modi is smarter than that unlike what the media tries to portray him as.

While I agree that both India and China may not risk a war when they both are in a growth track, but I would like to point out that our military is not for decoration, it is a potent force by any standard and it is capable of defending our borders.

Too much propaganda is going on about China's military might, but if you dig deeper than you will see that large Chinese air force actually has limited number of modern fighters, with Russian SU-27 still being their best fighter in service. They have a large submarine fleet, but again consisting of mostly outdated subs, and their army still uses Chinese versions of Russian tanks and howitzers, again no distinct advantage against India. They have a good arsenal of missiles, but we are also good in this department.

Besides, if there is a war between India and China, then it will always put China in a offensive role and India in a defensive role, as we have no plan to invade China for any reason, and they don't really have enough quantitative a qualitative advantage over Indian military to succeed in a offensive role, which requires at least thrice or more capabilities against a defending military, especially in the difficult terrain of the Himalayas.

Nobody, including the Pakistani fanboys, should have any doubt about the fact that our military planners are far more informed than pdf members about the capabilities of our identified potential military threats, China and Pakistan, and they are sufficiently prepared to handle such threat in case of any eventuality.

For now, and the foreseeable future it is VASTLY more in India's (and China's) interests to remain at peace, it is in no one's interests to go to war- that is absurd.


China is being somewhat assertive sure but the LAC remains peaceful and India's and China's interests converge on most issues.
