Pakistan has certain disadvantages .You can earn respect from your negotiating rival nation if you have the same capacity as that of the same nation.

In here Pakistan is not in a position to demand anything from India .
In plain words Pakistan is way irrelevant in Indias foreign policy .

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that India called off the foreign secretary level talks with Pakistan unilaterally and was not even trying to resume the dialogue, Saudi newspapers reported.

In interviews with different Arab language newspapers, he said his government was interested in renewing better ties with the South Asian neighbor like previous tenures of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

However, India was not positively responding to Pakistani efforts to restore the dialogue, he added

Terming Jammu and Kashmir occupation by Indian forces as the main hurdle, the premier said Pakistan was hopeful for constructive dialogue on all contentious issues between the two countries.

India had called off the talks after Pakistan’s High Commissioner Abdul Basit held meetings with the Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders last year.

Commenting on ongoing Zarb-e-Azb military offensive in tribal areas, PM Nawaz said the operation was being carried out successfully and 90 per cent militant hideouts have been destroyed since the start of the offensive.

He said that Pakistan was also cooperating with friendly countries to eradicate terrorism from the region.

The prime minister lauded the Parliament and the masses for frustrating attempts to derail the democratic setup in the country.

On Yemen conflict, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that his government and people of Pakistan give special importance to relations with Saudi Arabia.

He reiterated defending Saudi territorial integrity at all cost.

Pakistan also held talks with "furriyat" guys unilaterally, and to add salt Rogan Josh was also served. And how do you call off talks bilaterally? A la "Jao hum ek doosre se baat nahee karte" style?

Pakistan NEEDS talks because it reduces the retaliation available to India for the terrorism it exports.

The plan goes something like this , Nawaz and the political leadership in Pakistan keep asking for talks once or twice a month until pressure builds up in India from the public (led by the secular crowd like Mani Shankar) for talks. The seculars argue "Surely no harm can come of just talking? Modi is being churlish, look how nice Pakistanis are, so warm and hospitable and the best parathas and kheema. " finally Indian public pressure is so great that talks restart.

Pakistan waits a couple of months and then produces some major entrepreneurial effort, maybe bombs in parliament, a massacre in a major city etc. simultaneously Pakistan says it is not responsible and waves it's nuclear bombs at india.

Public pressure builds up for the GOI to do something and the GOI cancels talks.


This is why Pakistan needs talks so that India can be seen to be doing something. It does not want India to take more serious action.

So Indians should take this friendliness as a WARNING of something more sinister round the corner and gear up the Coast guard and army to protect her citizens.
