Things are moving at a chinese train speed. Lots of private contractors involved in sprucing up the place.

Most of the things highlighted were superficial and just need to be cleaned. No major rework required. So with about 5000 or so cleaning staff involved, its getting better by the hour. 27th is when most of the teams will arrive in the village. The interiors of the areas that have undergone the overhauling is looking swankier than a lot of good hotels in Delhi.

Fingers crossed for the weather. Its bright and sunny today and if the weather holds for next couple of days, we should be back in form

Doesnt take away the shame of the nonsense that happened. CWG officials are saying it openly that they used the media to jolt Indian organizers into action who were not listening to them when they highlighted this need for fire fighting cleaning on 15th .. These guys know how to escalate and get things done. WOuld have prefered if it was some one from Indian admin who had done this though

No disagreement there.. Its a big jolt to the image and will need a lot of doing to undo, if at all

Karan that is the point. Games or NO games that will not effect India as well there are many factors which give strength.

i have seen machines doing the manual work in cities like Rawalpindi so yeah i am also surprised what held Indian organisers from going tech But again you can not show more than the specified machine labourers for embezzling funds.

india's image has been slightly lowed,for which envious neighbours are very cheerful,even a guy from tiny highy advanced, Unbeatable bangladesh is cheering,
but lets not forget next year oct,india will host the F1 race track,which will bring back and much more respect to nation...

It was not embezzling fund but lack of fund. you have to put the money on the table before starting the project. i saw in the indian TV that they estimated 100 mln for the game then it turned out to be 8 bln dollar. Total lack of competency.
