One of my own favourites among the political class, although he has a bad reputation among the Hindu extremists, is Asaduddin Owaisi. He doesn't spare anyone, and is ruthless and direct (his brother Akbaruddin is different; he is too bellicose for my liking, and has a 'thing' about Hindus, which I detest).

Having said that, Muslim Indians have to be more assertive in the social and cultural spheres. Rather than polarising around three poles, one the passive, hugely_tolerant_of_abuse pole that some minorities descend to (I was thinking of Bangladeshi Hindus), the other the murky underground of the Bombay gangs or the third pole, the even murkier undergrowth of SIMI and IM.

As for India.

It belongs to Indians. Be it Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus, Christians, atheists, Jains, Buddhists, parsis or anyone else. The very concept placed by India's founding father's was one identity above all else. India is for all the residents of india. Nobody can say that since Muslims have 50+ countries so sorry this is Hindu land. It is not. The land belongs to it's inhabitants irrespective of their faith and culture. They can worship roman gods and practice Jedi culture but they would always be Indians holding right equivalent to all Indians as citizens of the state of india.
