Another factor which I observed while working at CEA was the PLF is quite low in Eastern grid plants e.g. the PLF is 80-85% in South india, 70% in west, 60% in North and around 40% in East. since our main sources of coal are in East and if we can improve PLF here then we can achieve much better capacity utlization. also our T & D losses were around 23 %. which is not good : Electricity sector in India - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In fact we have enough installed capacity to meet our current needs provided we improve PLF and T & D.

In Hyderabad everyday 6 hr power cut is going on.Untill the state assets are sorted out between AP and TG.

Thank god, We in Vijayawada are facing zero power cuts.. Govt promised no power cuts from Oct 2nd ever.. Thanks to division otherwise only Hyd used to get all the attention.
