The World Directory of Modern Military Aircraft (WDMMA) published the Global Air Powers Ranking of 2022 in which it placed the Indian Air Force at third position.

The Indian Air Force has been placed 3rd on World Air Power Index in terms of the total fighting strength of the various air services of different national of the world. IAF has been placed above the Chinese Air Force also known as People’s Liberation Army Air Force.

IAF has also been placed above Israeli Air Force, Japan Air Self-Defence Force and French and Space Force.

According to the report, the Indian Air Force (IAF) currently counts 1,645 total units in its active aircraft inventory.

India buys all it's jets, and are now currently looking at the F-18 Superhornet.
China builds its own jets, with fifth generation done they are moving on to sixth.
There is no comparison.

In my opinion the gap between PAF and IAF is much smaller than that of PLAAF and IAF despite what the Indians on PDF are going to say.

Comparing the PLAAF with IAF is a insult for PLAAF.

My 2 cents....

Forget the PLAAF even the Russian air force is miles ahead of IAF.

Agree about gap between IAF and PAF.

Disagree that RuAF is better than IAF. Ukraine shows that Russian Air Force is garbage. IAF pilots are better trained and they have far more PGMs, especially with their French aircraft like Mirage-2000 and Rafale.

IAF crash rate in non combat training missions is probably already the top of the world.

2021 a bloody year for military aviation: CDS among 22 dead in 11 crashes, 5 involving MiG-21s

New Delhi: The year 2021 has turned out to be one of the bloodiest for India’s military aviation, with 11 crashes resulting in 22 deaths, including that of the country’s first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat.

The total number of crashes this year is more than twice the number witnessed in 2020. Last year saw five crashes, which led to the deaths of two pilots.

Hence the need to learn Wang Wei maneuver
