For Bangladesh many of the emerging industries has evolved after 1995 those are not counted in the GDP calculations. These are most of the private banks, business trading houses, private universities, private cellular companies, private tv and radio channels, real estate companies and many other companies those of which were not there before 1995. No wonder when from 1985 to 1995 base year has been changed GDP was updated by 30% increase. This time it will be more then 50%.

But in India as I said any one earning 29 rupee in city and 22 rupee in village is not considered as poor. With 870 ruppe or 660 rupee in Bangladesh you even can not manage to get a room or 30 days of meal.

Lol!!! dnt worry whether the world will believe that or not... IMF itself is helping Bangladesh in upgrading the base year. This is well known for years that Bangladesh's economy is much higher as a big portion of the economy is not counted in GDP.

In 2000 itself when base year upgraded from 1985 to 1995 gdp was raised by 30%. This time it will be in between 50-75%.

Oh of course , bangladesh is a a rich town now. People and swimsuit babes all moving around in BMW's. A single night in a 2 star hotel costs at least $10000 , that too , in off season. Bangladesh is only for the super rich of the world. Obviously , 870 rupees is probably how much Bangladeshis pay to buy 100 grams of cheese at Bangladeshi Walmart.
