INDIA APPROVES $3.2 BILLION PURCHASE PLAN TO BOOST NIGHT WARFARE OF ARMED FORCES

Oh, really? So guidance is screw driver tech?
When you screw up and 'assemble' the guidance system made of imported chips, isn't that SCREWDRIVER tech? Hell do you even know these military grade chips are imported, there is no chip fabricator in India, get this in your head.

The Insas rifle has seen extensive battle. It is a battle tested rifle. All these articles that are critical of the rifle are making the same mistake that you made with IA and Akash. This is India, even if one finds a cure for cancer, someone else will be there to criticize it.
Well, those articles are by your fellow Indians, you can choose to believe all is good and dandy. If mainstream INDIAN news outlet can't be trusted, you expect me to trust you? What a joke.

Yes, I am sure a new INSAS shall may can will come in the future, maybe 20 years down the road? LOL

Where in the article have you read that we are still importing or not using Indian NVDs?
Since your whole biased POV hinges on this non-fact do show us where you got this info from?
Since you are the one accusing the onus lies on you to PROVE IT!

Beginning this month, the Indian Army has already invited global bids for NVDs for long range LMGs and Uncooled Thermal Imager based Driver's Night Sight with fusion technology for the Russian-origin T-90 tanks. The Army requires the range of detection of a human target at minimum 1000 meters.

However, the recently floated RFIs are considered highly ambitious. "The type of technology is not available in India.

Well, that was not my question but since you are clearly averse to the truth let me pop your bubble and show you that you are superbly and gloriously wrong.

Below are the original RFIs dated 7th and 9th December that Sputnik news bases its info from, and grossly misinforms its readers and attracts trolls like you.

And as per the RFIs, like I told you before, both Indian and Foreign vendors are invited, have a read if you still don't believe me.

As for "type of technology is not available in India".

I shall pop that bubble too.
PART-1 of both RFIs state the essential technologies required in the NVDs to be selected by the IA.
AND THESE ARE SOME INDIAN PRODUCTS WITH MATCHING AND BETTER SPECS.

Products from Tonbo.

But don't you worry, half to a year from now when an Indian company has been selected I'll tag you & I hope you reply then and not cower at how wrong you were.

Now, direct that spoon back in your mouth and enjoy that well earned denial.

Lol. This stuff is made in India. The latest one uses chips that use GLONASS, GPS and IRNSS. Who do you think makes that? And guidance also comes with a backup ring laser gyroscope, that's also Indian.

Yes, MSM can't be trusted in India anymore. I explained that to you in the demonetization thread.

Read this sh*t.

Army says no to Brahmos missile

But another media outlet says this.
https://web.archive.org/web/2009082...onnet.com/thehindu/holnus/001200903301848.htm
the army is absolutely satisfied,"

Defence news is literally made up in India. That's why we filter out the BS from actual news in forums. That's also why we give more importance to actual quotes from people rather than rely on news that show only 'unnamed sources'.

The Indian media is sold to lobbyists and political parties. Everybody knows this. That's why the Finance Minister told people not to believe any policy story about demonetization unless someone fromt he govt physically comes up on TV and informs the people. Recently, there was news that there's a new income tax slab, which was fake. So media sold to different political parties are resorting to rumour mongering.

It's the same with defence. Lobbyists are everywhere.

That's also why one of our best anchors wants to create an 'independent media' free from politics.
http://indianexpress.com/article/in...ic-will-change-the-perspective-of-journalism/

The facts are simple for all to see.
Army tested Insas.
Army bought Insas.
Army used Insas in war.
Army was satisfied with Insas.
Been in use for 20 years.

New rifle requirements were placed for India specific conditions for multi-caliber rifles. No contender could satisfy requirements. Only DRDO rifle comes close with the MCIWS. Obviously Insas cannot fulfill these requirements, it's a different class of rifles.

By the time Insas is replaced, it will have finished 25 years in service, which is pretty normal for a rifle. In the meantime, Excalibur will be purchased because it cleared all trials for a 5.45x45mm rifle. In fact, it did better than foreign rifles.

http://www.business-standard.com/ar...s-on-indigenous-excalibur-115090300012_1.html
With Gen Dalbir Singh throwing his weight behind the Excalibur, the army has begun informal trials on the prototype rifles, to eliminate any chance of failing the formal trials when they are held. So rigorous are the army's trials that four of the world's best rifles - Italian company Beretta's ARX-160; the American Colt Combat Rifle; Israel Weapon Industries ACE-1, and the Czech Republic's CA-805 BREN - failed to pass a three-year-long evaluation.

On his visit to the Rifle Factory, Ishapore (RFI) on Tuesday, Lieutenant General Sanjay Kulkarni, the infantry director general, put the prototype Excalibur through the "water" and "mud" tests, in which the rifle is fired after being fully immersed in those substances. The Excalibur handily passed these tests, which all four foreign rifles had failed to clear.

Fact is the best rifles around the world have failed trials. Only Excalibur cleared trials. That's the level of the army trials.

However the army wants to kill their targets now, they don't want to deal with PoWs and other political problems. They simply want to kill their targets and save the hassle. That's why the switch to 7.62x51mm. And this is something DRDO will be expected to deliver. If they can't deliver, then army will import. You see, we believe in quality. The armed forces don't make political decisions when procuring equipment. If DRDO systems clear trials, they will be bought.

Whatever stuff we have bought works, whether it is Indian or foreign. And Indian made equipment is held to higher standards. That's a fact.
