Well, its about damn time. CISMOA/LSA needed to be re-drafted, the next version will certainly soften the stance and pave the way for plenty of Indo/US co-op

Only US bases that are remotely of any interest to India would be in the Gulf and Diego Garcia.I don't think US bases in Thailand would be of much use.
Signing this agreement will make us closer to US/EU/NATO and away from Russia/China.

A cost/benefit analysis should be done after taking Russia and China's opinion and no deal should be signed hastily

This will not alienate Russia since US knows by now, India will remain independent in its thinking. Russia will always be a strategic partner.

Why??? India has a close relationship with Bangladesh and BD will also get acess to the bases; just as much as BD Officers train in Indian Military Academies and Schools.

USA has plan to mess with everybody in this region, wherever it goes it creates chaos to ensure its military presence.
Don't want to turn it into middle east.
Did not you hear about US plan to chain Asia and Pacific region with its 60% naval assets by 2020 ?
when China will see US presence in India, surely will make some aggressive plan, then US will say, see you need me, let me stay

Its not a blank cheque to USA for purpose of using our bases. Its only an agreement that facilitates the supports rendered to US aircrafts and ships when the port in our bases. Its re-fuelling and maintainance. The agreement is needed to create an infrastructure where this might happen. Its got nothing to do with anything else.

So rest assured, this development is not a paradigm shift in Indo-US policy.

Forget all that. USA does not have so much resources to spread around now. As for the ME, the Countries there were simply dumb and daft enough to create the mess themselves; they did not need too much help to land into it!

Rafale will do all the jobs the IAF require in A2A and A2G roles and a larger order will be placed I believe in the future so what is the need for the F-35?? it is a single engine plane with very good advanced avionics but lacks mobility and dog fighting skills compared to the PAK-FA.
