India Already Has a Strong Net to Catch the New Pak Bird ‘Ababeel’

come on guys ... give these guys break.

how can he come on TV and say we are F'ed now ? we do not have anything to counter that ?
Counter Something Which Not Even Tested yet or Still far From reality

The only criticism I will take seriously on Ababeel is from non Indian sources.
Only non Indian sources raising technical questions on the claimed capabilities of Ababeel should be taken seriously.

Indians are barking as usual.Nothing substantial about it.

Pakistan on Tuesday announced first successful test firing of its new surface-to-surface, nuclear-capable missile Ababeel, with a range of 2,200 km. Pakistan military claimed that its new missile can deliver multiple warheads, using Multiple Independent Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.
Ababeel Weapon System is aimed at ensuring survivability of Pakistan’s ballistic missiles in the growing regional Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) environment.
Ababeel test came, just two weeks after Pakistan claimed of conducting the successful test of Submarine Launch Cruise Missile. So what do these rapid missile tests mean for India? Is India prepared to take on these threats? How true are claims made by Pakistan? At least Indian scientific community gives an assuring answer and missile experts take Pakistan's claims with a pinch of salt.
Dr Avinash Chander, former Chief of DRDO and longtime head of India's Ballistic Missile Systems including Agni, in conversation with News18, said that "India has a credible deterrence and our missile program is capable of taking on any challenge." However, he acknowledged that the test of the new surface-to-surface missile by Pakistan has changed the strategic threat dynamics in India's neighborhood and this needs to be factored in, in India's future military planning and preparedness.
Meanwhile, tall claims made by Pakistan have again raised doubt within Indian science community. Dr Chander wonders if Pakistan's claim regarding MIRV technology in a short-range missile with a range of just 2,200 km is true. According to veteran missile scientist, use of such technologies in a short range missile is difficult. Primarily, it is used in long range missile. So we need to wait for more substantial inputs to verify Pakistan's claims.
Globally, only US, Russia and China have proven MIRV-enabled missiles in their arsenal. India is still working on it and it is expected that future generations of Agni missiles would be equipped with such capabilities. Interestingly, all the MIRV-enabled missiles are Long Range Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles with a minimum strike range of over 6,000 km. Therefore, it is difficult to believe that Pakistan has developed an MIRV-enabled missile with a range of just over 2,000 km.
Nonetheless, to meet any challenge from Ababeel, India's missile defense battery is all charged up. Indian scientists have been working on a two-layered missile defense system since few years. One is designed to kill an enemy missile before it even enters the atmosphere while the other is developed to shoot any hostile missile in the atmosphere. While Exo-Atmospheric missile defense system PDA can destroy any hostile missile at the height of over 80 km, the Endo-Atmospheric missile defense mechanism, AAD, can kill enemy missile at the height of up to 30 km from the ground level. In the last one decade, AAD system has been tested over 7 times successfully.
"India is among the top few nations in the world who has a complete indigenous and highly-successful "Multi-level Strategic Deterrence" program as well as a "Two-layer Ballistic Missile Defense" program, says former DRDO Scientist Dr Ravi Gupta. “Though Ballistic Missile tests being conducted in our neighborhood by a country with a hostile track record and its support to terrorist activities is indeed a threat to the world peace, India with its indigenous capabilities is fully prepared to take care of any threat,” he adds.
According to DRDO, India has already tested the missile defense system, including the capability to take down multiple warheads. The test of this capability was first tested five years ago. DRDO statement issued in November 2012 said, “A special feature of intercepting multiple targets with multiple interceptors was demonstrated successfully. An electronic target with a range of 1,500 km was launched and the radars picked up the target missile, tracked the target missile subsequently & launched an electronic interceptor missile.
This electronic interceptor missile destroyed the electronic target missile at an altitude of 120 km. All the four missiles were tracked by the radars and all the guidance and launch computers operated in full operational mode for handling multiple targets with multiple interceptor.
All the four missiles were in the sky simultaneously and both the interceptions took place near simultaneously. This has proved the capability of DRDO to handle multiple targets with multiple interceptors simultaneously. The complete Radar Systems, Communication Networks, Launch Computers, Target update Systems and state of the art Avionics have been completely proven in this Mission.”

I can only judge Pakistani military techology using their economy as a guide.

Your economy is very basic in size and what you manufacture .

You have no computer industry like India.s or real manufscturing base.

Your success as a well run oiled nation is far from balanced and consistent.

Pakistan has tested the bomb but so has north Korea.

I put your missle technology same as koreas.

No space programme no real naval ship building ability means I am guessing your mirv claims are false and a face saving excercise in Indias success at arihant nuke subs and recent icbm

Unlike Pakistan India has commercially
demontrated it's rocket space and satalite technology and makes huge money from this sending satalites into space

Yet you don't have a single decent Indian forum you can unload your insecurities on. Shame on you!

India icbm are tracked and guided by satalites

Since you people have no satalites of your own how do you track

Hope it's not binoculars from the k2,[/QUOTE

Satalites really? Ever used spell check? Indians don't need weapons. Just a bolt of lightning out of your *** is enough! Lol

Indians are barking as usual.Nothing substantial about it.

It has caused major Indian butt hurt! Ro ro key bura haal hey!

Whether MIRV or not, there are enough layers of defenses coming online to counter such a threat, be it the thousands of S-400 missiles in 5-12 full scale regiments, many batteries of AAD/PAD and other counter measures.Radar coverage across Pak is complete and detection is immediate. Moreso, in a war scenario if such missiles are deployed or fired, it will be the last set of missiles being fired, Pak's destruction thereafter is assured and we only need 2 decade old Prithvi-1 to accomplish this rapidly.
Ummm....no...MIRV capability is going to a big pain in the a$$.....It kind of make ABM system running for cover even before it is being developed...so if this news is true then it is a great addition in Pakistan arsenal...

Interestingly, all the MIRV-enabled missiles are Long Range Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles with a minimum strike range of over 6,000km.
The answer is that its purely circumstantial. Russia and China needed missiles that reached US and US needed missiles that can reach China and Russia. Thats the reason for there being no MIRVs of medium range. Its not because its not possible to place MIRVs on a medium range missile but rather placing them on short range missiles would have been a waste. Meanwhile for Pakistan, we do not have global aspirations, 2200km is more than enough to make the people in Delhi lose their sleep so thats what we will place our MIRVs on.

Do you put the same standards when it comes to Indian capabilities?

Above is the list of MIRV capable missiles in existence.

Can any one guess, what is the range of the shortest range MIRV capable missile ?

6000 Kms - M45. France.

Because that is minimum range required for proper warhead dispersion is atleast 6000 km.

If the Midcourse stage is very short, as it happens short range ballistic missiles. There isnt enough time for seperation of the vehicle and dispersal of warheads.

So either Pakistani scientists have bent the laws of physics, or they just have fooled their public.
Kaka, ever heard of lofted trajectories? No? Read up on it.
Pakistani scientists sure bent something. :P

Not that i have much technical aspect/knowledge here however UK is another candidate in MIRV capability list and i believe distance is within the range we are talking about....

Yeah we know your industrial capability, now go provide some toilet to your road-shitters ..

lol estern bhangi talking as if they are industrial power while themselves are largest importers of arms.. cant even build a fighter jet or tank that too with heavy foreign components and help in designing and claiming to be a space power.. your space program is all left over of soviets.. otherwise it would be falling on your head too..
Compared to Pakistan we are an industrial hyperpower.
Their is far more Indian content in Su-30MKI & T-90 than there is Pakistani content in MBT-2000(AK) & FC-1.

Example: peak mbt-2000 production by HIT was only 42/year whereas HVF is producing 140 T-90/year.

At short distance MIRVs are simply unable to disperse.
Which is why US pershing and French pluton were single warhead.

Also recent Ababeel was go a mere 1100 km.

LOL!!! :lol::lol::lol::lol:

indian BMDs are can not intercept MIRVed missiles.

Which indian BMD system can intercept a missile at 600km+ height?

Some random website making foolish claims to soothe indians
Indian swordfish can detect any launch on your pads & can intercept during ascend before going outer atmosphere.S400 is also capable during descend up to 180km height.
