I am no fan of Hafiz Saeed and wish him hellfire if he has been responsible for terrorism in Mumbai or anywhere else, however at the end of the day the guilt has to be proven.
Even on many other levels, i dislike this guy...but this is not about mine or anyone else's strong likes or dislikes...it is about law and justice which sadly require concrete evidences..
reminds me of the quotes from the movie "devils advocate" when Keanu Reeve says to the jury that is hating someone a reason enough to convict him of murder? This is in his response to the prosecutions opening argument about the defendant who is accused of the murder of his family and maids. The prosecution lawyer goes all hyped up and emotional about how despicable, hateful and bad the defendant is to which Keanus opening liners to the jury are, I will tell you 10 more things about the defendant that how bad he is and how much he hates his own defendant, there is a gasp and shock by everyone listening, he lets the audience sink / absorb his words and then makes the killer comment I stated above, is hating someone a reason enough to convict him ?
Like AG, I cant stand Jamat Islami (read ) its philosophy, its leadership that lacks human emotions and doesnt know the meaning of human rights of minorities and non Muslims and also its close associates like Hazif Saeed and their obnoxious excuse and support for Taliban terrorists. But this all has nothing to do with the court of law and justice.
Unlike the example set recently by Uncle Sam (and the immediate boastings afterwards by the Indian Sena Pati about imitating Abbotabad operation) India should exhibit a different approach to the Taliban justice exhibited on weekly to daily bases in Kabul sports stadium where brains were blown out through point bank AK 47 fire. Despite all differences and grievances, Pakistanis admire Indian democracy and better judicial system compared to what we have had since partition. So we expect better than the Robocop style threats and rhetoric of handing over the people (when we dont even have any agreement to do so).
