India aborts a human Moon mission

now this is a reasonable decision, a wake-up for some delusional people here
Reasonable and debatable, yes but for delusional, if you mean Indians hoping for such mission, well I think you should read the entire article. Its no longer about doing all by ourselves, joint development and cooperation can be beneficial both economy and technology wise.

They have given the example of Chandrayan Mission for finding water on moon and India is already working with Russia which will provide Rover in space exploration.

No need to re0-invent the wheel if cooperatively you can achieve goals in less time to start with and gradually developing it.

The only reason China is not in ISS is due to US denial so they have to develop their own space station. There is no hope in near future that US and China will work together whereas Russia and US, which can never have worked together, are now cooperating,

This actually helped China to develop its own program all by itself but we also faced problems due to sanctions in 1998.
So buddy, lets forget chest thumping people and involve in better debate.

India has the room to work with US, Russia, Japan, France etc.

I would like to say that all the trolls not to ruin and cheap banter should be avoided, in this thread. Its about technology and reason for prioritizing the projects by highly advanced institute of a country.

Dont make your self laughter stock...China still purchases hardware from russia and russian technicians are base of chinese fleet.
Even in navy, airforce and in missile tech, china dont even come close to russia leave aside U.S.

They signed contract of mi 17 choppers..

Russia to Deliver 52 Mi-17 Helicopters to China by 2014 - Kanal PIK TV

I don't know if its another fake news from Russians (Can Chinese members confirm this? )but it could be a earlier contract you know it take 10 years to make an India Aircraft Carrier from Russia...

Just take a simple judgement,

the US has 2 types of next generation bird, F22 and F35
China has 2 types of next generation bird, J20 and J31

Russia has only 0.5 types of next generation bird, as the other 0.5 goes to Incredible India.

Argument?

Thanks they have aborted.... this mission would have failed and precious life would have been lost... India would never passed this test alone without Russia's help.

China is nowhere near Russia.

of course we are nowhere 'near' russia``because its quite embarassing when getting too close with russia when buying their weapons```because you will probably ending up like Indians spent 2 billion for a make-up job and then 7 out of 8 boilers went off when conducting a simple sea trial`````i hope their Fa-pak wont go sour

Directly buying it is better than copycat. :enjoy:

n January 2009, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) indicated that it could undertake a human Moon mission by 2020. Now, there appears to be some change this stated position. During first week of September, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. V. Narayanasamy, mentioned there are no immediate plans for such a mission, although India remains interested in human spaceflight to low Earth orbit.

In a nutshell, a human Moon mission is a financially affordable, technologically feasible, and globally and regionally respectable proposal for India. Definitely, it would involve various challenges, but that is why it would be worth attempting. However, still India has dropped the idea of undertaking such a mission. What could be the reasons behind such a decision? In this regard, the following paragraphs raise some questions and attempt to find answers to them to understand why India appears to have altered its earlier decision to undertake a human Moon mission.

The 21st century is the showcase for “realism”. In this era, states are more self-centered and normally undertake cost-benefit analyses for their actions. Is the Indian decision based on any such analysis? For any such analysis the term “cost” should not be viewed only through an economic prism. The costs could be economical, scientific, political, and strategic.

In present times, it’s not obligatory that various scientific achievements would be viewed in a dramatic sense as they were viewed during the Cold War era. The discovery of the Higgs Boson is not credited to any one country. Today, investments for research in the space area are increasingly done as multilateral ventures and International State Station (ISS) is its best example. India finding water on the Moon was actually an outcome of joint Indo-US experimentation. Hence, it is generally understood that even though various scientific discoveries have a nationalist flavor, the international component of it could not be missed.

The Space Review: India aborts a human Moon mission

Should be put down on priority list rather than aborting it. 2 decades after today, these missions will be needed. I hope we don't abort Moon and Mars mission at least.

The Unfortunate Contrast

When India plans and invest in projects like Manned Space pogram, Manned Moon or Unmanned Mars mission, people bring in 450 million poor and starving people living $1.25 dollar a day but if the same time India aborts one project as cooperation with other countries can certainly deliver fast and better results, they start jumping on India's ineptness and forget that the money saved will be invested in same poor people living in Sub-Saharan poverty.

When India buys ACC for $ 2 billion then everyone start laughing but when we delay it for our sailors safety they do the same. If we have accepted the ACC in current form and sailors died due to Asbestos, you all will say India don't care about its armed forces and will bring Mig-21 Flying Coffins. People say so much about our own ACC being built getting delayed where as countries like China which has better ship building industry hasn't built one.

List of such kinds of contrast is too long.....

From where I see, most of the people on this forum just waits for failing of India and start bashing it where as Failed State designation of Pakistan is banned topic. We accept it is your forum and you decide the rule and we are the guest but at the same time being host also brings some responsibility too.

@mjnaushad yes landing on moon was fraud.... Its been debunk till death.... Have u ever thought we landed on moon many times in 1970s but couldnt land now? Why?.... When NASA scientists been shown the proof that America never landed on moon than NASA scientists shown the foot prints and american flag.... Not a big deal.... Flag can be planted on moon and the foot prints can be created by moon rover.... The full details of fake moon landing world has.... i will post here if u want me to post.... No human are allowed to land on Moon and Mars.... However there is news that tall Greys did took American on Moon after a request and thats how they claim the flag and foot prints were created.... So even if america went on moon by the help of Tall Greys we cant call it america landed on moon all by itself.... In ancient time the Atlantis empire and Rama Empire went on moon to war.... Both of them were Aliens. Rama empire was Lead by Blue Alien india God Krishna and also Arjun.... The Atlantis empire was sub humans.... We modern day humans cant land on moon not because we cant.... It because we are not allowed....

So tagging 5th gen title makes any fighter a stealth plane? ...

we dont open fake apple stores and no body knows about it
and we make under license unlike producing the fake copies and embarrassing the producer :P

The main problem is that : made a big big voice even before plan, but failed or oborted later
such as :
India to spend £1.7bn sending man to the moon, to launch its first manned space mission in 2015 and set a deadline of 2020 for an Indian astronaut to walk on the moon.

India will build the worlds fatest Supercomputer in 2017, even no one of Top 500 was built by India, big voice at unreached thing

India made a lot of noises in the past 10 years for publicity stunt and Moon Men mission was one of them. Very shrewd yet worked great for India but eventually gone to gutter as expected.
