no bro, no holiday in any other state. by this u can guess the sorry state of memories our freedom fighters. even our own country now don't care. every year 23 march come & go no one cares. on other hand gandhi jaynti is a national holiday. someone should ask indian govt. that only gandhi fought for freedom????????

I think that India's policy in 1947 to display Gandhi's pic on currency note's is a big time FAIL as no one gave him much required respect as compared with other Freedom Fighters who died for freedom cause.

mind ur words before speaking $hit abt great freedom fighters, pakistan also owns to baghat singh because he fought against british rule in subcontinent which includes today's pakistan also. he & his fellows were not bunch of kids. he had guts that's why he didn't ran when police arrested him. he was chanting inqlab zindabad standing at one place.

Do u remember Udham Singh aka Ram Mohammed Singh Azad
he took the revenge of Jallianwalla Bagh Massacre after 20 years...he went to Britain & killed Michael Dwyer in his own country...stating that I couldnt sleep for 20 years...if u come & kill a Indian in India then we will kill u in ur country we will take revenge at any cost...

Do you really believe bhagat singh and his friends are more responsible for freedom ?
Even after their hanging you dont see any large scale armed struggle, more people are involved in peaceful opposition led by gandhiji.

I am not denying that they made great sacrifice, but I would say he was more like "Che" of India, more of an idealist and dreamer.

I am not saying gandhiji singlehandedly brought freedom, but if you want to take one name it has to be his.

Yup..You are probably right..But you tend to get emotional when you see women suffering in your house because their husbands are not there for them because of this Freedom struggle..

ya i agree with that but the problem is what are we teaching to our coming generations, whenever indian freedom struggle is discussed every one name gandhi. what abt those who also fought for their beloved country. why they are left behind in dark???? why are they not remembered????? why always freedom = gandhi

When bhagat singh and co noise bombed assembly house .....they were not there for armed struggle but to wake up India and they did.......and Bhagat singh and co used non-violance in jail

This is incorrect. Gandhi was far more popular on a national scale than Netaji was. In his generation, Netaji was the most popular of the lot. Many people forget that Netaji was significantly younger than Gandhi and in the same age bracket as Nehru. Nehru was never a mass leader till he became PM
