Never liked going inside temples outside kerala, too much noise, too much people and less of a spiritual atmosphere.

Except the one I went to in Mysore I can't remember the name because I was eight.

I think Guruvayur is the best temple in the world. Despite it's enormous crowds there is a sense of solemnity that is unmatchable. And they make you take your shirt off

Some loser(many identified him as Safriz the chutiy@) created a new avatar, named it as Webmasterbaster, and went on slinging $h!t at many seniors here. Took a while to silence that runaway bronco! He may be the sea-gulls guy too, although he sounded a little more intelligent.

Those are the big temples. A temple visit is about having a "darshan," a glimpse of god, so really unfair to expect anything else given their popularity and the crowds. For a quiet meditative session there are smaller temples everywhere.

No. It is not about the quite meditative session. You need to be a malayalee and a temple goer to understand what he meant.

Once you have experienced the spirituality in a Kerala Temple, it is impossible to feel anything spiritual in a temple outside Kerala. Temples in South India (Andhra, Karnataka & Tamil Nadu) is still tolerable (mainly due to the devotees) but Temples in Rest of India just SUCKS. Even the priests are crooks. There is zero spirituality there.

Temples in Kerala have these quality because Kerala is the only place where the Temple Brahmins are truly respected and they in turn has protected the sanctity of the Temples.

While not a malayalee, I do understand what he meant. I have been to quite a few temples in coastal Karnataka and they are really spiritual and the Brahmins are respected. But it is my experience of going quite often to the Narmadeshwara temple in Trombay that defined for me the temple experience. It was quite a remote forested area then with hardly any visitors except on Nagpanchami and Mahashivratri days.

Agree with you about the state of temples and Brahmins in North.

yeah especially Vaishno Devi heck they don't even have proper sanitation facilities over there and the route up is so nauseating with all horseshit and litters lying everywhere. how the heck people found spiritualness in such a disgusting place. government has billions to spend on hajj but not even a penny for providing even basic facilities in pilgrimage sites inside India.
