I have met many "jolly good" Sikhs who don't mind others pulling their leg with Sardar jokes.

Bhangee is an absolutely horrible word. This one word summarizes everything I need to know about Indian caste system. I think in some states it is a criminal act to use that slur.

Many middle-class and well-off Indians use expressions like "...Bhangee jaisi shakal" in a jovial manner. This is the level to which an entire group of human beings are being dehumanized in the casteist laboratory of India.

I didn't know they still use it in Pakistan.


EDIT: Did you know even the word chutia comes from an ethnic group in Assam. Many of their ancestors used to work in tea plantations (still do). No prizes for guessing how that name became so popular in the subcontinent?

You missed the point. There is an entire group of people from the lowest untouchable caste in India, whose name has been used for that word.

This is caste discrimination at its worst.

Nowadays it's illegal to use that word in India at least in higher education, and good circles same as the N*gger word in Western countries.
