What's new

In response to letter of HRW to PM Imran, Dr Mazari writes back to US based HRW organization.

.
It can only be considered "a good response" if Imran Khan's government plans on not fulfilling its election promises, taking no concrete steps to improve the lot of Pakistan's women and minorities. The Mazari letter contains numerous escape clauses from doing so.

HRW is not a government and controls no forces. They won't retract their baseless attacks on Israel and hunker down in silence when pressed for or challenged by specifics, even as they partner with the disgustingly antisemitic U.N. Human Rights Council. So yeah, HRW is doing what it can to slime Israel and obfuscate the many times greater real abuses occurring in other countries. Such "jew-baiting" is one of the prime characteristics of antisemitism and HRW had been cited for this by one of its founders, Robert Bernstein.

How is PTI not taking concrete steps. Muslim are in minority in Netherlands and PTI is moving to defend their rights there.
PTI just made the national media free of reporting on any issue and any side of the story. The govt just came in 10 days ago so it has been only 240 hours out of which 96 hours were of holidays and considering 8 hours office time that means in the time of 80 hours the govt is doing fine.

East or West
Mazari is the best.
It appears you're all agreed that Pakistan should continue with its attitude that problems elsewhere in the world be fixed first before Pakistan's women and minorities stop being screwed by the majority.

@Mentee @war&peace

I'm not aware that the PTI controls the Pakistani state's instruments of media coercion.

Let's talk about Israel first. Because a zionist jew should be last person to talk about the rights of the minorities and women.

We don't do apartheid! Our minorities are free to buy land and build places of worship wherever they like.. It's not like we impose arabic like you do with hebrew - - -

@Solomon2 do yiu guys have some sort of a quota for Semitic Muslims and Christians in govt jobs and parliament as per their population percentage?

It's a general rule that always bigger hole in the boat is plugged first.
In Pakistan, we already have laws to deal with violators of human rights.
While HRW operate under the impression that by faking HR violation cases in Pakistan, it is doing any justice to the cause.

How is this HR violation?

You should pay attention here:

Straw men. Those were not HRW's charges:

...Security forces remained unaccountable for human rights violations and exercised disproportionate political influence over civilian authorities, especially in matters of national security and counterterrorism. In March, parliament passed a constitutional amendment reinstating secret military courts to try terrorism suspects for another two years. Security forces were implicated in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings throughout the country.

The government muzzled dissenting voices in nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and media on the pretext of national security. Militants and interest groups also threatened freedom of expression.

Women, religious minorities, and transgender people faced violent attacks, discrimination, and government persecution, with authorities failing to provide adequate protection or hold perpetrators accountable. The inclusion of the transgender population in the 2017 census and the first-ever proposed transgender law were positive developments -

The human rights crisis in Balochistan continued with reports of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of suspected Baloch militants -

etc., etc. Not a word about "apartheid".

It's not like we impose arabic like you do with hebrew - - -
More antisemitic jew-baiting.

So we agree that the point of Mazari raising the issue of alleged violations elsewhere is simply to avoid addressing Pakistan's own issues.

Pakistan is addressing its situation very well the one and 2 cases of violation are addressed but what about Israel where a majority is being converted into a minority?

. .
HRW lists a lot more than that.

Still jew-baiting.

What about Israel turning a majority into minority? Is that not human rights?

The Mazari's approach is the best approach first concentrate where major violation and main problem are occurring.

Pakistan must raise the issue of brutal state sponsored murder of coloured people in America. 223 innocent unarmed Blacks were killed in 2017 and more than 100 are already killed in this year. Its time for America to stop such barbaric medieval practices and start respecting humans regardless of their skin colour. They need to change their school curriculum and start teaching kids this is no longer an acceptable behaviour. They should fix a quota for coloured people in their congress to ensure their representation.

@Zibago @BHarwana @war&peace @Indus Pakistan must read this finally a good reply from Pak government after age's.

Still jew-baiting.

Pakistanis who continue to suffer because coercive forces insist upon diverting attention to castigating Israel are therefore faced with the choices of continuing to suffer, emigrating, or revolting against an authority that disses them and their needs.

I suppose this counts as "America-baiting".
