In race with Japan, China sweetens bid for Indonesia railway

Japan, China in final stage of Indonesia train bid

China quickly took the lead in the competition, apparently because the country made a fund procurement proposal that does not require a governmental guarantee.

THIS !!!

This is the Important Thing from China Proposal.
Right know, Japan Cheerleader will say Safety, 3 years is impossible Bla Bla Bla. :p

The other Important Point from China Proposal is Shorter Time.
And From Experience They Build HSR in Their Country. They Build Very Fast, The FASTEST in the World !!

I personally Believe, China Can build HSR in our Country, Just 3 years.

After see HSR Development in China, We Cannot Deny, China is a Superpower in HSR Matter.
Especially after see your Thread Brother, @AndrewJin. Thanks.

I personally, Hope China win this Bidding, Cause they have better Proposal for my Country, Indonesia.

Thank you for your trust in China's HSR, bro!

I am sure the government of Indonesia will chose the best for the country. It would be nice if China won, but even it did not, wish all the best for China's good partner in the ASEAN.

Your Welcome, Bro :)

Yes, of Course.
All the best for AIIB and Silk Road Projects.

I don't believe a thing that Japan said it would cost 4.5 billion, 1 billion cheaper than China's 5.5 billion. Japan's infrastructure total cost will end up multiple that of China.

I guess Japan's 4.5 billion bid is hiding the big extra payment at railway maintainance, management etc cost, outside of the initial building cost.

Simplely it's just no way Japan can manage it cheaper than China.

China is world's #1, by a long shot, on infrastructure-building, in terms of the best technology-time-cost combination.

then say that to Japan. if Japan is multiplying their infrastructure cost, then the MRT project will be failed some times ago, let alone this unrealized project.

i am once worked in Safety Works before, and i am with Japan when they stressed out that safety should be prioritized over anything else. common Indonesians are still unaware of the importance of Safety. this should improve their Safety awareness.

HS train by and large is about the same technology in general, including the safety measures.

At the end of the day, s afety issue is more depending on the day-to-day ground operating work force - Indonesia work force, no amount of China or Japan's technology can substitute that.

Japan has a very good safety record measured by the longest operating years, so does China measured by the longest operating network.

If China's PM, UK's PM David Cameron, London's mayor B|oris Johnson, LA's mayor Arnold Schwarzenegger, German Chancellor Angela Merkel etc etc a long list of politicians and celebrities have no safety issues taking China's high speed trains, I don't see why an average Indonesian has an issue.

Hmmm for me the japs is the best in train technologies, even their jr train wagon (cl line in indo) is far better than those of bombardier or MAN, more comfort, less noise and vibration, better in savety too, and our experience with chinese technologies in our transjakarta busway show us how poor the chinese in savety and reliabillity, i hope the japs shinkansen will win :D

Lol, are you stupid?

You Blame China for Transjakarta Busway case?

That's because Our Indonesian Government Officials in here is so CORRUPT !
There is Budget for Buy 'Brand New' Bus from China, but them Buy 'Used' Bus with some Recondition from China. And the Money, go to Their Pocket !
That's because Indonesian Government is So Corrupt !

Lima, Peru. UAE, South Africa, etc. Use Chinese Bus too. But they don't have problem like Jakarta Transjakarta Busway !

Ask why !

nobody says China's train isn't safe? where did you get this words from?

as the above article stated, Japan is stressing the importancy of Safety which is agreeable by me, meanwhile China is stressing for short contruction time. you don't know how dangerous the "slow train" was in Indonesia.

this kind of thing won't happen with High Speed Train. yet like i said, if it were to promote Safety then i am all for it. regarding who wins this bid, it's neither yours and any other people business. let the Indonesians pick the winner.

don't be insulting them. "Japs" is an insult call for the Japanese. be good to everybody regardless of their Race, Nations, and Ethnicities.

Just wait a few more weeks for the winner to be announced. Keep calm and stay cool.

This situation has become a thing in the past, we have much better train service today.

i know. i have stated that the problem might not be happened again in the future. yet, like i said before, if it were to promote Safety into the commoners mind, then i am all for it. who knows the same thing would be happened again in the future? it's best to make people know the importance of safety.

InshaAllah, Japan and Indonesia enjoy years of bountiful and rising partnerships in the transportation-trans-infrastructure sector (among other things), Alhamdulillah. I wanna see more and more cooperation also in nuclear energy, renewable energy, fisheries bio-engineering, geothermal power, metereological pattern studies, maritime patrol policies et al, Alhamdulillah.

Japan Renews Lobby to Win Jakarta-Bandung Railway Tender

In another attempt to support the Japanese bid to build Indonesia’s first high-speed railway, a special economic adviser to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday met with President Joko Widodo.

Izumi Hiroto brought with him a delegation of representatives from the third-largest economy in the world.

“Probably all already know that in this [tender to construct the] high-speed railway, we compete closely with China. I told the president that Japan wants to help Indonesia to build the high-speed train,” Hiroto told reporters at the president’s office in Jakarta, without going into detail about what Japan has offered.

He added that his team has been informed that a feasibility study from Japan is currently being reviewed by consultants and that the Indonesian president will decide based on the outcome of the review.

But the adviser said he also discussed other topics with Joko, including the prospects of stronger cooperation in the maritime sector, efforts to deal with the global economic slowdown and turbulence in the financial markets, as well as ways to boost trade between the two nations.

On the high-speed railway project, which will link Jakarta to Bandung, Indonesia’s chief economics minister Darmin Nasution said that with a new Japanese offer on the table, the review process may need to be extended.

“If there’s a new proposal, we have to consider it. China will probably do the same. Previously, we wanted to wrap up the review process within a few days,” Darmin said.

Japan has tried to make its proposal as attractive as possible, including by offering a 40-year loan at an interest rate of 0.1 percent, with a 10-year grace period, Oura Daisuke, the representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency in Indonesia, said this week. He declined to reveal detailed numbers.

China has offered a loan of $5.5 billion with a 50-year tenure, an interest rate of 2 percent and also a grace period, according to Indonesian officials.
