What's new

In light of recent events, the real reason why US won't leave afghanistan directly from an American.

Have they planned for gold becoming reserve currency again.
Yes! US have largest reserves of GOLD by far.

When Capitalism was on the brink of collapse in 2008, some Americans were telling US Department of State to kick Capitalism in the rear and return to gold standard because Capitalism have the tendency to direct wealth in the hands of few. I recall reading a suggestion along these lines.

But US Department of State prevented collapse of Capitalism because billions of livelihoods were at stake around the world.

Whatever the future, US is far better prepared for it than Pakistan. Any discussion in regards to potential future of US is pointless.

WE need to worry about the future of our country instead.

Have they planned for gold becoming reserve currency again.

Sir you are absolutely oblivious of what is happening in the economic sphere a paradigm shift happening right in front of you @LeGenD
Do not blindly assume that others are oblivious to global developments. Chances are that they are better informed then you.

Taliban is responsible for sabotaging ongoing talks with its voilent tactics and behavior.

Why blame Donald Trump? Why not blame real culprit? Who advised Taliban to attack cities and kill people while talks were happening and a deal was in the view?

This habit of blaming others for everything that goes wrong, is absolutely negative and wrong.

Scores of people were mistaking Trump's political flexibility in relation to Afghanistan as a sign of weakness and defeat, and were openly touting as such.

In reality, US is militarily stronger than ever before and can wipe Afghanistan clean if it desire. This is what people want to see? Think about what lay in store for Pakistan as well.

You said a while back that US was definitely pulling the troops out when some of us said 'no chance'.

US NSA and Secretary of State both were against this deal to begin with. Now you are blaming Taliban.

Proper US tattoo you are.

US Deep State never intended to leave. Presidents come and go and Trump won't be any different.

.
US invaded Afghanistan to dismantle notorious Al-Qaeda Network in the region - a mission for which it had mandate and approval of UN. Afghan Taliban stood in the way unfortunately and the entire country suffered consequently even though Pakistani establishment attempted to convince Afghan Taliban otherwise.

So uninformed. Taliban offered Osama if he was going to be given fair trail. Remember , Taliban have their own customs known as pastunwali, they would rather die to protect someone who has taken refuge among-st them than just simply hand him over. US was looking for blood and hence it invaded.

UN security cover is absolute bullshit. If tomorrow , UN gives America cover to invade Pakistan , would you drop and your shalwar and offer your *** to them or rather fight. I know what I will do but I am not sure what people like you will choose. Remember , all people involved in 9/11 were arabs , non were afghans.

Years later, POTUS no. 3 in the row, Donald Trump offered Afghan Taliban a way out of this mess, a negotiated settlement in which Afghan Taliban will have a political future in Afghanistan. The ball was clearly in the court of Afghan Taliban but they threw it back.

Oh how benevolent of Americans. Destroyed Afghanistan for 19 years and now offering peace. Taliban never offered talks .. It was the Americans who wanted talks. If they could fight for 19 years , I am pretty sure they can fight for 20 more years. You clearly have no idea of geography and the people in it.

What else is going to work? You tell me.

America needs to get out of Afghanistan. Period. That is going to work.

Peaceful resolution of Afghan crisis, is a desirable endgame. Pakistan would be greatest beneficiary of this endgame.

Heavyhanded tactics are not going to work with US. Anybody who assume otherwise, have his head buried in the sand.

It worked in korea . It worked in Vietnam . It worked against USSR . Judging by the pattern. I think it is a good idea.

If Afghan Taliban are honest about lasting peace and making this region terror-free, they will try their best to salvage the deal by bringing US back to the negotiation table. Nothing else will work, mind you.

I am glad Afghan taliban do not think like you. They have all the cards and are in winning position. No need to compromise.

Does not make an iota of difference to US, they are well-prepared for a wide range of contingencies. They plan 50 years ahead.
Same was said in Korea , vietnam and Iraq.
B/W US was in great depression prior to WW2. But afterwards?

You are so uninformed. Answers in Bold.

To be honest. Legend seems like a complete idiot to me. Posting feel good bullshit theories only work in drawing rooms . Not on battlefield.

Peaceful environment is essential for ongoing talks to succeed and a deal to materialize in the first place. This much was openly conveyed to Taliban delegations during the course of talks.

Picture yourself on the negotiation table. Would you carry on with talks while your opponent is shooting at you?

Tit-for-tat violent behaviors.
No side stopped during negotiations. And above all there are many factions in Afg,one can't predict who is doing what.

But 90% of us economy is bank loans bank promises "thin air" and you Know that it's huge. in 40s as you mentioned their economy was real(i.e they followed the gold standard) under Marshall plan they sold to themselves cement metal and food products and
10s of thousands of products thereof.
the basis of their economy were real now its debt of banks and assurances thereof " thin air" they are riding Hindenburg as far as economic basis are concerned i.e after abandoning gold standard in early 70s.the question is what can they (economically viable that is) produce and sell e.g boing commercial aircrafts weapons and soyabean seed etc will anyone need these products during recession. Including us citizens.

Yes! US have largest reserves of GOLD by far.
What is it's proportion to the size of their economy.

Have they? or have they created bigger monsters in the process intentionally or otherwise.

They will have to kill 10 million people as per Donald trump to to achieve their goals in Afghanistan
So they will have to kill at least half of them to stay there for half a century
You have to take him seriously. What he probably meant was that an escalation will no longer be like previous ISAF missions, they might resort to brute aerial force against which the Taliban, and any number of very unlucky civvies, will have absolutely zero defenses.

2 decades of war footage almost, look it up yourself, so many instances of when the talibs are cornered, they just move into civilian villages and walk out hand in hand with a bunch of little kids, they know/knew how to exploit this rules of engagement thing.. and the ISAF forces were left frustrated with one hand tied behind their backs.

Trump will end that and fight dirtier than these rats, not expose too many of his men and bomb the talibs to hell.. and guess what ? no Charlie Wilson or Brezenski types from the US/CIA, or any other intel source anywhere on earth is going to help the Taliban with anti-air this time.

So what I am contemplating is right.

And what we already knew and believed was right

sorry for my clumsy posts i am posting via a troublesome mobile.

I really think there must have been something in the terms of the peace treaty that were fundamentally unacceptable to the Taliban.

This whole hoohaa about "ceasefire breaches" and "environments for talks" seems nonsensical. A war is ongoing between Taliban and its various enemies. That confusing and bitter conflict isn't going to end until after the ink is dry. Trump is presenting this "no environment for talks" idea as a cause of the collapse when it is really just a convenient excuse to abort. The Taliban themselves will likely shed light on why the deal was untenable. I suspect (just my guess) there were too many concessions for the warlords of the northern alliance forced into the deal, allowing them to retire and live merry corrupt lives with whatever they looted over the decades. American stooges are exactly the same, the world over, bought for a paltry price.

US do not want to leave Afghanistan. Trump said that the US presence would still be there in Afghanistan even after peace deal with the Taliban. They want to have permanent bases in Afghanistan like they have in Japan, Germany etc.

US target is Pakistan and China. All signs are leading towards a 2 front war being fought by Pakistan on eastern and western borders in the coming months with India attacking on GB while US or its terrorist proxies i.e. ISIS terrorists engaging us on western border.

Don't fret we are immune now to these circumstances.

I have tagged the timestap.. Just watch from 20 mins onward for 4 mins and you will know exactly why US will never leave Afghanistan alone as its objectives is not Taliban , it is China and Pakistan.

General Hameed Gul was right. Afghanistan thikana hai , Pakistan nishana hai.

Let the Americans come. We will give them a party they will never forget. Of course the Americans are here for our nukes. We knew that all along. That is absolutely no secret.

. .
We are going to do no such thing sir I won't eleborate but that's exactly whant they want us to do.

If the Americans come into our borders with the intent of snatching our nukes we will do it and much more. No doubt about it.

.
The US army is America's largest job program.
It is a huge part of it no doubt.

War has become their national addiction.
Actually, Trump won mostly on an anti neocon/neolib warmonger platform. Hell, he's still having a go at john mccain every time he gets a chance because it's a politically expedient thing for him. His base, call them racist or whatever you want, but they are against American military interventionism/adventurism.

Afghanistan is beyond Trump, this is part of a way bigger picture. He tried, he failed.. probably because he had only so much to offer, and a "last American soldier leaves Afghanistan" scenario was never even on the negotiation table, which was a red line for the Taliban so it was a non starter to begin with. Trump didn't have any depth to play with.

Speaking of depth, a continued US presence also denies Pakistan a chance to regain their lost "strategic depth" in Afghanistan.

China surpassing the US and becoming the global hegemon in a few decades time is what the US establishment worries about most, they're not leaving... Hillary or Romney or anyone else would have done the exact same thing but with a lot less bluster.

@Fawadqasim1 too
