In an Unlikely Corner of Asia, Strong Promise of Growth

Those who see they see not, hear they hear not...

Now what the f does that mean?

I guess he meant this -

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

So you think an impoverished country such as Bangladesh which has hardly any international tourists has enough middle class people to sustain a city with more 5-star hotels than Hawaii do you?

It's funny. Westerners always talk about how Asians are brilliant at logic but are incapable of critical thought. It would serve your country better if you critique and rationalise everything that has been fed to you. That's how progress is made. Believing the things you want to believe may make you feel better but ultimately it is you who loses out when you realise the truth.

Now, seriously. You think there will be 50+ 5-star hotels in Cox's Bazaar in the next 5 years? SERIOUSLY?!

You idiot... Just think critically before posting your crap. All the name of the projects, picture and develers are here... So there is no option for thinking or convincing a poor idiot myanmarese...

N comparison with Hawaii ??? It has only population of 1.4 million n do you have any idea what is the population of Bangladesh??? 164 million... With 50 million middle class who prefer to go coxs bazar mostly when ever they get chance over other location. It is going to be up more in coming years... So not only 50 but more hotel will be built there. Period.

That is at best a typical Hindu Indian can say... Jealousy and mean mentality is always in the blood of these Indians. Those who see they see not, hear they hear not... It's better just to keep them alone...

More digital deception -- any jobless hack with a half decent knowledge of PS can make this rendering --

But then you must know it already.

It is too difficult for them to understand that BD is a rapidly growing economy(GDP growth is near 7% a year now) and so demand will rise rapidly from domestic tourists and also preparations are also being made to expand Cox's Bazaar airport to become an international airport, and hence there would be a huge increase in overseas tourists in the coming years as well.

No point trying to reason with simpletons.

It's because I think critically that I don't credit the building of 5-star hotels to a bunch of little renderings, pretty as they are. Nor do I believe that there are 50 million 'middle class' people in a country whose GDP is lower than Iraq who will be in the market for 5-star hotels. But, hey. What do I know.

^^ Alaungphaya..... maybe it's all for the good --

Maybe you can win over a well developed Cox Bazaar with 50 5-star hotels rather than a run down town with a literacy rate of about 53% where people fully cover themselves in beaches....

dont act like india got naked beaches, a lot of foreigners get harassed in goa, and it is a fact that if you see an indian at the beach they are always in shalwar kameez!

Tere mere beach me kitna hey 5 star anjaaaa...na ..
Maine nahi janaa ....

Chaps flying in frenzy with stars beneath their buttocks!
Anyways there's no 50+ 5 star hotels in Coxs Bazaar ( At the moment).

Still if one needs to find one, theres plenty,
more than any other hotel our lovely neighbouring(countries) beaches have.
Radisson , Mariotts, Pan Pacific are under construction though,
but they'll only take 2-3 years more.

Personally speaking if one needs to get a bit dark, hear some Jazz or blues,
they'll need to visit places like Mermaid cafe or similar around Marine Drive.

I would much rather my boyz rocked back into Phuket than Cox's Bazaar.:yahoo:

.
I dont think whole bangladesh got more than 10 5 star hotels ..

. .
most of these hotels cannot be called 5 star in par with international standards, and they dont make sense to me they are beyond the affordability of most of the middle class masses and many of them are khet no doubt!

course you would all the lady boys are there

hilights: number of international tourist arrivals in 2010 for South Asia is 11.5 million. In comparison, SE Asia got 69.9 million.

number of international tourists to Bangladesh in 2010 was 300,000 people who spent $81million. That's for the whole country. That's barely enough money to build one reasonable 5-star hotel. Do you really think there is enough capital and infrastructure in Cox's Bazaar for 50(!) 5-star hotels? Come on...

Who told you that the Hoteliers are building their Hotels for the foreigners only? Rather, it is for our own rich and middle class, that's all. I don't say that we do not welcome foreigners, but, it is their choice to come or not to come.
