In A Jolt To OBOR, Pakistan Rejects China Dam Aid

who told you that ?

we just sit with beer and enjoy the show..cheers

Yeah I suggest you do that, but alas it is not the case. This forum would be an excellent place if Indian here do that.
Just look up most of threads about Pakistan started by Indians is their effort to ridicule Pakistan nothing much.

There are only few Indian members who are actually adding value other than that most of them are here to troll

Ps. The biggest flaw in Pakistan's energy mix is the minuscle use of coal. Rest of the world including India have coal at between 40% to 80%. In Pakistan it is less than 4%.

This is definitely a jolt for pakistan who wasted years not building a dam, and when heard the final bill, backed off. Not surprising considering 14 billion is just too much for any developing country.

The project was supposed to be Build Operate & Transfer mechanism over the period of 30 years. There might be some issue with pricing or with some specifications.

We have done wonders, we can do it again. Money can easily be collected locally if no other way is found.

be my guest.... go find a political party to take your concerns to the parliament.

without educational reforms you will have a hard time explaining that to the people.

i have worked in a cement production company so you can spare me the lung cancer jabs and i am a smoker myself.

death is taken philosophically in Pakistan

so you can spare me the lung cancer jabs

What's that supposed to mean?

Death isn't the problem, that's inevitable - it's the slow painful prolonged process of dying that will replace life which people will find uncomfortable.

You shouldn't hide behind the population not having enough education to understand the environment. Whenever it floods go ask the victims if they understand how clearing forests and soil erosion participated to that - they'll understand, even if they don't - they will sit and listen.

Whenever people are wating for days for water trucks to arrive, spend some time with them and ask them if they understand how preserving water could help their situation.

Whenever people sit around on the baked soil waiting for rain as their crops die, ask them if they understand how more trees would help - they will understand.

On PDF last week nearly everyone understood why we needed less pollution when people both sides of the border were choking and hiding indoors trying to protect themselves from the smog.

Even in the west winning the environmental battle is tough, Pakistan is a country where wining it will be a matter of survival - so if education is missing we should start with education, not ignore the issue and leave it till everything magically aligns sometime in the future.

Not surprisingly but the word Jolt used by specific group of media, really satisfied many to live few more days.

Realistically, conditions could not be agreed mutually hence, No to offer. For very few that may try to understand once again, not very hopefully but still, this is a sign of transparent investment from both sides where no party is forced to accept or enforce one side agenda and the same depends upon mutual agreements and profit for both Nations.

So very soon, we can expect another trend of articles being copy pasted by all the same specific set alleging that, Being Angry of Jolt, China is taking back all CPEC even demolishing the constructed part all over Pakistan while giving in a Jolt in return.

Once again you are more into rhetoric rather than actual facts. Do you have the figures for CO2 emissions caused by Pakistan?

as far as your barren land problem is concerned.. blame the cash crop syndrome and utter disregard for irrigation system because all the water is used up by land mafias well placed fields so the water will never reach to the far areas.

Layyah and Thar both were actually green not that long ago.

we have to make do with what we have now. Coal can give us a 10 year headstart till we find better solutions and hopefully than offshore hydro projects and better utilization of solar energy available along with bio mass.

you are bringing first world problems in a third world country. that is and will never work.

Haha. Indians and their bollywood stinky curry masala. Lol at jolt.

I see Indians are more concerned about Pakistan. Cheer leading every time there is some news about development in Pakistan. :D

This news should give shut up call to everyone who said that Pakistan is giving everything to China for free.

We have our interest and we will make decision where our interest match, otherwise Thank you.
Yeah...if you have not noticed it yet!! We love you:smitten:

Wecome to mud slinging contest.
U did not get what i was asking.
Its not ur country or my country...its abt enviornment...my leaders were idiots to come with coal power...but china is a leader in solar panels..
If u have something to contribute i have all ears..
Poor and energy starved countries like Pakistan, coal based are good workaround.
Genuinly speaking, Green energy is still very expensive. and Germany is also facing this isssue. I am working in a World leadin Energy frim now here and my boss usually said we had made very stupid decision and one of them disconnecting Nuclear energy and still buying Nuclear energy from France and Belarus on high rates.
