In a Freak Accident, MiG-27 Fighter Jet Falls on Biker in Rajasthan

LOL I am an Indian but this thread is so far the best i have ever read in PDF..Kamekaze stunt...:rofl::rofl::rofl:

IAF can't fly even mki.

Now with mig they will swat em like macchar.

Too many crashes. They should learn to fly.

Screw up by HAL which simply lacks the ability to overhaul a basic trainer. Corruption in HAL as it is corrupt to the core.

How good it was in the 80's when it was a prime fighter i don't know honestly but as of 2015 Jaguar is miles ahead of Mig-27 in ever aspect

IAF has inducted the MBDA AIM-132 ASRAAM (300 meters- 50km range) as a dual WVR/BVR missile for Jaguar.

It has the MBDA/Matra 550 Magic and 530D missile and the Russian R-73,27. These four missiles are on all IAF platforms as we have full ToT for them and are free to do what we please.

Jaguar has the EL/M 2032 Israeli radar with the 150km A2A range and 300km A2G/A2S range. (The real deal not the hybrid bullshit on Tejas)

IAF has inducted the latest Harpoon Block II missiles for a maritime strike Jaguar IM variant squadron at Jamnagar (Gujarat coast so will be massive threat to all PN assets)

Jaguar is basically fanged to the core. Its a close call between 3.5 gen and 4 gen.

Here some stuff on the ongoing DARIN-3 MLU of the Jaguar

Indian Air Force DARIN upgrades for SEPECAT Jaguar | Defence Aviation

Best thing is the new Honeywell engine will increase external weapon payload from current 4.5 ton to 6.5 ton and give the Jaguar ability for Himalaya ops ( in other words do the same job M2K did back in 1999 in Kargil)

Interesting read. Jaguars turn out to be much better than all junk Russians have made.

My question to you or any other informed Indian member will be that why did not India consider used RAF and French Air Force Jaguars when they were retired in 2006 & 2007.

No surprise here。

Fitting for India。

If this sort of thing ever happens,it can only happen in India。

Next time an IAF jet will crash-land on 。。。。。。。(not prizes for guessing right):D

Some few month old news.
Seven people were injured when a Chinese J-10B fighter jet crashed in a suburban district of Chengdu, a typical small Chinese city of over 14 million residents.

Specifically, the Chengdu J-10B fighter crashed two days ago in Pitong Town, the administrative seat of Pi County, a few miles outside of Chengdu's city center
.
Only in china, the worst of air crashes with the govt tries to cover up... I heard many Jf-17 prototype crashed,so is J15 and J16 but then their is no democracy and media is not free.:big_boss:

Britishers retired it due to their crazy defense cuts so make room for Typhoons

Yes Jaguar has certainly endured the test of time and with the new missiles and upgrades its lethal and nowhere near retirement unlike Mig-27 which has major engine issues.

IAF had HAL make 37 Jaguars under license post 1999. All 37-40 were delivered by 2008.

Basically the thing is why induct 2nd hand Jaguars when we can make brand new ones in India.

Major disadvantage in buying a airframes with what would possibly be having only a few hundred hours left.
Also they would strip several subcomponents out and the cost to outfit their Jaguars and possibly a new airframe would be too much.

Only disadvantage to license manufacturing is HAL is the contractor making the Jaguars and its quite possible something will be screwed up but so far thank god all is good.

Every country has its own policies and budgets. But taking your point further on used jets, Pakistan had a good experience of buying retired airframes and rebuild the aircraft with new avionics and systems. Mirage 3 and 5 are prime examples.

Also, just recently, Pakistan bought used Jordan F-16s.

All of these planes have a lot of life left in them that will at least give PAF service life between 15 to 20 years.
