Imran’s Bani Gala to PM House travel costs Rs3 lac, claims Khursheed Shah

I don't have any objection PM travelling on Heli or Jet meant for PM. Only thing I want to know is that why PM haven't shifted to official residence (whichever he selected) yet, I think if he moved there than there will not be any need of 2 round trips to bani gala. Is the residence not ready yet or he himself don't want to go there?

Which frankly is too close. I would rather PM Imran Khan buys a apartment next door to Avenfield, London. Then he can commute 5,000 miles on PIA VIP flight every weekend. He would be safer and his opponents in PML-N will be satisfied.
You are savage...

You are savage
Look let's be honest. IK is PM of Pakistan. I think we all would agree that he faces extreme threats from within and without Pakistan. He has enemies everywhere and will make more as he cleans out the old order. So of course there are going to be security, transport and protocol costs. And these are not going to few rupees. But I think what the Pakistani taxpayer expects that these not to be extravagent. Justified expendture is fine. And most importantly it must be less than what Nawaz, Zardari spent.

I am 100% sure on that score that PM IK is ahead of his predecessors. He is not a extravagent person by nature. I am going to be honest here. If I had got married to Jemima who has a legacy to billion pound estate I would have built myself using her resources the best mansion in Pakistan. And the inside would be decorated like a Versaille Palace in Paris. Yet I have seen his Bani Gala residence. I love the location but the actual building is quite basic and the interior is terrible. It looks poor quality and worn/dated. Honestly my home is better decorated and I am sure my wardrobe is more extensive and expensive then PM IK's. This is a man whose fame far exceeds his wealth and living standard. Now compare Nawaz who could go to a US city and pass off as a taxi driver and nobody would know. Yet have you seen his palace in Raiwind?

For all the experts trying to calculate flying cost have no idea how an aircraft actually functions.
Major amount of fuel is used when it's in the air, which is written in log books as air time. When pilots calculate fuel required, the expected air time is taken into consideration and then some added on top of it for emergency and a standard taxi procedure fuel usage. Taxing procedures don't use much fuel, only power checks use a bit cause you have to test the engine on full power. In the case of heli's they don't have to taxi. In this case the airtime is hardly 5 min and if you check the distance it shouldn't take more than 3 min with no headwind.
Here is a more pragmatic calculation of the fuel cost.

Such mode of transport is meant for movements of VIPs.....and not Sri Payee.....

I was thinking the same thing....The media had absolute no problem with Siri Payee being transported throughout a 3 times heavy weight tenure of Shariff kahndaan ....we havent added that cost to the protocol they used....THEN weight it against IK's use...If IK's is still expensive ask the nation's engineers to get off their arse and make a fuel + cost efficient helicopter and sell it to the PM! After all every other son is an engineer!

SO what's the problem... I have been saying the same thing. Rather I want Imran Khan to relax a bit on this austerity drive rather opt for an optimal solution. He needs a level of comfort and far more important is the security. Now he has to think as a responsible person, no need to become a hero....There are serious threats. Furthermore, a PM each minutes is far more valuable especially if he is delivering at his maximal efficiency. For example, If Bill Gates, drops a USD 100 bill, it is not economical for him to bend and pick it up from the ground.
IK has already done tremendous cut on the expenditures and he went from 524 to only 2 servants while I would be more than happy if he had stopped at 20 servants because even that is 26.2 times saving or 2620% saving... Similarly, from 80 cars, he should have gone to 8 which is 10 times the saving but he went for 2 which is too ambitious and unrealistic. Also I find it ridiculous that he will not use the special airplane for the PM...Come on man!!! so you will waste many hours for standing in queues to take a commercial flight in case of an emergency? WTF
And I'm afraid he will have to backtrack from these unrealistic goals which no one asked him to set. And when he will do, the opposition and the media will have a field day... I find many of his decisions ....immature and populist...which are not necessary... these are my thoughts.

Exactly.
Being head of the state, these expense are inevitable whether IK likes it or not. He should only be careful of people like Fawad Ch who are going to harm the cause of IK by providing logic only they can understand. Fawad seems like rep of PML or PPP for these illogical statements. IK deserves a better team.

Listen to yourself.. Everyone knows that these things used to happen during previous governments. But now we had the party of change who took credit for revolutionizing these practices. Au contraire, we are finding that it's the same shit just new packaging.

Image caption

Well, it will take time to iron the VVIP culture out of their bones!

Doesnt happen overnight...

HOWEVER, What I am interested in is the total cost of a car protocol from bani gala to PM house (say 5 cars fuel, security personal employed + traffic congestion / stopped - citizens fuel wasted in their car as they wait for protocol to pass) compared against a heli ride!

So who can give me these figures?

@Oscar @Horus can you merge this thread with its relative: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/imra...l-costs-rs3-lac-claims-khursheed-shah.574561/

While it was evidently clear that the reality of security considerations would hit all these austerity measures- and that the Heli is actually the less intrusive route for the PM to take.
The question that really needs asking is why does the PM take his trips to Bani Gala when he has that house allocated.

In addition, a way to cut costs is to travel in the wee hours of the night on road.

However, it is astounding what sort of upbringing and rearing creates Pakistanis who are gleefully hoping for this government to fail regardless of who they support. To them their party is more important than Pakistan??
If so then its time to end this miserable experiment of a nation, have martial law and execute a few million or so that openly consider party above Pakistan.

Imran’s Bani Gala to PM House travel costs Rs3 lac, claims Khursheed Shah

AUGUST 26, 2018

Khursheed-Shah.jpg

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah on Sunday claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s travel from his Bani Gala residence to PM House costs Rs 300,000 daily.

Khursheed visited Haroon Bilour’s residence in Peshawar to offer condolences over the latter’s martyrdom last month in a suicide attack.

Speaking to the media after his visit, the PPP leader turned his guns toward newly-elected PM Imran and said his daily travel costs from Bani Gala to PM House were Rs 3 lac.

“Imran Khan uses a helicopter to travel from his residence in Bani Gala to the PM House, and he makes two trips every day. The total cost of it is Rs 300,000. He is all words but actions,” the ex-opposition leader said.

He added that Khan was offering nothing new and the ruling PTI government was just presenting agendas of the previous governments with a minor ‘makeover’. “PTI will have to offer comprehensive changes.”

Talking about PPP’s candidate for presidency Aitzaz Ahsan, Khursheed said that the party had named an individual who was free from any accusations and who is an asset for the country.

He clarified that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has no objections over Aitzaz’s candidature, but with the way things played out and that PPP understands reservations of its allies.

There is non stop scrutiny of Imran Khan , only few journalists have mentioned security threat while the rest question everything he does ! If they are such expert , they should run Pakistan.
They expect Imran Khan to change everything in a week without caring about his security or even eating food . If it was up to them they would ask him to starve and still work like a robot !
