brother,
I not talked about the KPK tax collection, the point of this form is IK will collect 7000 Billion,
for your information, our Population is growing , and as population grows, the economic activity also increased, and because of increasing economic activity, every person involved in driving the its income paying the indirect taxes!
so every year from last 15 years, our tax collection is increasing @ 15 % per annum, so saying this that IK will able to collect 7000 billion, sorry to say its impossible, because more than our 60% of our budget went in defense and debt repayment. and only 40% budget available for paying salaries, and for development expenditures.
and for your information from last 8 Years our development expenditures halted between 400 to 500 billion.
if IK will raise the development expenditure to almost 10000 Billion, then may be may be he collect around 7000 billion in year, otherwise not possible at all.
You need an English lesson before economics. I'll use simple sentences for you.
In Pakistan Direct taxes account for 25% while indirect 75%
In India the ratio is 50-50
In Japan only about 10% is sales tax, the rest is income and corporate taxes.
Rich people pay higher income tax because their income is higher.
Politicians in Pakistan are rich people. They don't want to pay taxes.
To make up for the loss of these rich people not paying their taxes, the poor are burdened.
Every sale in Pakistan has a 17% sales tax. If a poor man buys milk worth 100, 17 tax will deducted for the government.
In the USA, the current tax rate for the very very rich is 40%. Tax rates have been as high as 90% during WW2.
Ittefaq industries annual income is $400 million according to this Wikipedia entry (Ittefaq Group - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If the tax rate was 40% annual tax of $160 million or Rs 1.6 billion would be paid by Nawaz Sharif's family alone.
That is A LOT of money.
But Nawaz doesn't want to pay tax.
So he avoids it in two ways:
1) Making wrong declarations.
2) Having a relatively low maximum tax rate of 30%.
He also needs help from friends. They find their way to avoid tax altogether--just like the many PML MNAs who pay 0 tax.
Now he needs money to fund his Mercedes gift to his favourite AG. He also needs it for his $400,000 foreign visits. What does he do? There are two ways.
1) He taxes the poor in the form of indirect taxes.
2) He borrows
Result? He gets richer while the poor get poorer.
Profit?
I hope you understand.
