Imran Khan's Stance accepted by Supreme Court in Presidential Reference

these are pti supporters who are twisting things to get more likes for their stupid videos.

Wednesday will decide the fate of PTI and if PTI looses important Sheikh Hafeez seat or chairman senate elections, than I think Imran Khan will dissolve the assembly
Imran khan has no reason to dissolve assemblies whatsoever. Liafaf journalists have been saying this pretty much since imran khan became Prime minister

Have you bothered to read the judgement? Secrecy is not absolute.
Only the excerpts in some articles, but what’s your point exactly with regards to eventual secrecy?

iK should be awarded 110% of the vote as he is not corrupt and he should be made caliph over all the world

You people cry about democracy but when a ruling comes in favour of strengthening democracy, you start crying over that as well. Admit it that you want Pakistan to be Shariff Kingdom and don't give a feck about democracy.

Courts interfering with the constitution is a clear and proven way to strengthen democracy. The great leader Pol pot the second has spoken

A many decades old SC ruling that secrecy is not absolute! No type of balloting in Pakistan is secret absolutely so Senate elections is no exception. ECP also has to make sure that proportional representation occurs in Senate, and that is in the Constitution as well.

SC skillfully passed on the bell to the Election Commission. They can take their chance to bell the cat.

Are you referring to PLD-466 (1967)?

Also, PR as I understand is about method, not outcome. For example, by this standard would Chaudhry Sarwar’s election in 2018, with more number of votes than belong to his party be an example of a violation of your definition of PR? At the time someone commented that it was just an example of some members voting with their conscience (zameer ke mutabiq), today the government would seek to make the case that this is grounds for removal of secrecy after the fact, citing suspicion of dishonesty, irregularity, and possibly even corruption.

This is as I understand, what the government will cling on to after this ruling. But it’s not certain whether that alone will be cause enough to dig into the election let alone annul the results. Etc.

This is just my personal assessment, I could be wrong.

There are plenty of very valid arguments against secret ballot both for elections like this and general elections involving the public, as you have pointed out. However, this balloting method has developed through democratic norms and political science tradition, therefore some due care and diligence is in order if we seek to remove it.

Brazen actions without assessment consequences is what I said I take issue with, the proper way to do this is to make the necessary constitutional amendments to remove secret balloting as mandatory, while also working on some alternative procedural measures that would then need instatement. The exact nature of these alternatives I confess I can’t perceive for a lack of knowledge in this area.

If secret ballots are not wanted, that’s fine, just make sure you have the system set up to accommodate the change. And also if this call is coming from a place of sincerity and not motivated by political opportunism, then all future elections should be held this way, including when it isn’t in the interest of your preferred party. If secret balloting is being attacked for a lack of accountability and sincerity, then the people attacking it should also be motivated by accountability and sincerity, and held to that standard which they profess for themselves.

Opportunism is not from the government end, it's from the opposition who wants to buy votes. Government is not trying to get extra seats it's the opposition. Accountability comes through genuine votes not through who has the bigger wallet. Senate is not the venue for accountability, it is the right of people.
IK supported this when he was in opposition as well.

Secrecy is only until the vote is cast, there is a reason why there is thumb impression on ballot paper. What the SC has asked is the same in Senate vote.

If that’s true then it’s fine, but even then you need the proper process as I’ve said twice over, SC decision is a decent one, but just vague enough for this issue to bubble up again sometime soon.

Keep crying. You lot don't know the ABC of the constitution and talk big as if you know it all.
No one's crying bud, but the CJs of the country have run a mock and done untold damage to the country by over stepping their authority.
The rekodiq case has will cost billions
Saqib nisar who has influenced the politics in the country to such a degree in a thoroughly negative way.
Then you have retired justice Javed Iqbal who himself Is a fraud. And the new lad who is head of the his own committee regarding broadsheet. Azmat Saeed, who was party to the flawed contract.
It begers belief that all PTI supporters are totally unaware of realities

What proper process? Govt went to parliament for open ballot. Opposition shouted like animals. So it went to President that sought opinion of the SC. SC verdict says open ballot is not allowed but the vote is still traceable.
Nothing is vague. It is responsibility of the EC to make ballot traceable now.
No one's crying bud, but the CJs of the country have run a mock and done untold damage to the country
Correct. Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and Justice Faez Isa closed all corruption cases against your beloved Sharif mafia.
