What's new

Imran Khan's newfound love for Modi’s India

My take on mentioning india is Imran is trying to show the nation that their arch enemy cant be messed with politically because they are united in terms of foreign policy and matters but in pakistan they are divided and sold out to foreign influence which is dictating the direction.

IMO it's a slap on the nations face to wake them up by giving them this comparison.

I have a doubt than?

What are options left with a country like India?

Presently, post soviet Union we are trying to balance between a trusted partner and other western super powers..

And, we know that economy mostly depends on West Countries..

Do you find any fault on this balancing foreign policy?
Absolutely not.

typical
cant argue with facts so resort to insults

Best for Pakistan to plead for Indian protection .
We defied usa in 71 , were under their sanctions till 2002 and are again in their crosshairs for supporting Russia.
We will protect you guys from the bad Americans.
Ofcourse some strings will be attached.
Lol, first learn to protect yourselves from us not to mention China who is now permanently sitting on your face and rubbing it in. What exactly stopped you from attempting to do a counter strike after our aircraft visited you in IOK in Broad day light..... Without a Visa if I might add.

All politicians in Pakistan when they sit in opposition become India lovers.
If he is kept away from power for long, expect more truth bombs.

For my fellow Indians, IK is not admiring Modi. He is admiring our foreign policy. And our foreign policy have nothing to do with Modi or BJP. It was built back when patriots ruled India, not british boot lickers. What Mr. 56 inch trying to do is moving away from independent foreign policy by holding Trumps hand like a homo and inviting him to India with wall built to hide poverty. Sooner or later, we shall be under western masters if BJP continue in power.

.
Oh how the mighty have fallen, from 24/7 posts on India and fascism, now to loving India.

.
he is a emotional/ big mouth man, who talks like a common man on the streets not a politician - this is a negative not a positive
good for connecting with people- not really all that good when you are leading 100s of millions of people

it is and will in the future too come to bite him in his backside - I wont say much as the forum is already going through meltdown/ truama and too much criticism of his loose mouth will put me in trouble
He’s not emotional he just realized that nuterals are not nuteral they are the core problem.

Now, seems a new changed and newfound love ❤ for india from Imran khan.

Praising indian foreign policy

India is a khuddar mulk.

Did you listen to what he said ?

He praised the foreign policy, but at the same time he downed the RSS / BJP ideology.

For the kids who can't differentiate between the two... well keep reading.

Most Pakistanis will openly admit that India has an excellent foreign policy for India's benefit.
That is Imran Khan's whole point - that India's foreign policy is not controlled by foreign countries.

This is not admiration for Modi. In fact Modi had done immense damage to the smart foreign policy of previous administrations by getting too close to the US. The Ukraine war turned out to be a life-saver for Modi to salvage the Russian relationship.
The Ukraine war actually called the BJP’s bluff of appearing to show India is moving towards the US and away from Russia. When push comes to shove, India is not a reliable ally to anyone, and only thinks of it’s self interests not principles. Modi’s India is no different in that way then previous governments.

That is the message that IK has tried to convey to the west. India will not undermine Russia because at the end of the day, the Indian establishment is Machiavellian and not ideologically supportive of democracy for the sake of democracy. There is a reason India sided (“non-aligned”) with the Soviets during the Cold War.

The size of India’s economy and potential customer base is what attracts westerners and makes them ignore all else, just like they did for China a generation ago. But that same large economy also means India needs to look for the cheapest inputs to maintain its growth as the demographic dividend window closes over the next 15-20 years.

I agree, there is no admiration for Modi by IK, in fact he is genuinely contemptuous of the Indian leader. The hopes the West had for Modi, have been dashed with the Ukraine war. India’s purchase of Russian oil and defense equipment may very well be what sustains both industries to the detriment of the west’s efforts in Ukraine. In that sense India is hurting the war effort, and supporting Russia more so then China, because at least China is more honest with where it stands.

Modi is just the manifestation of the aspirations of a growing segment of the Indian population; appearing to accept western norms to gain economic leverage until they are called out on it. The same pass China was given until recently. India is not nearly as economically efficient nor demographically rebound to warrant the west giving another go to another potential Asian rival. Especially not at a time when western populations are demanding on-shoring of industries back to the States and Europe, and out of Asia. And India knows it won’t be given the same kind of investments that led to the rise of China, so it has to find its own cheap inputs itself, hence the need to import cheaper Russian commodities.

IK message to the west about India, and especially Modi, was his last jab at India as the PM, for now Inshallah.

Sorry to say but that should be every country's policy. India has the right policy and the West has reluctantly accepted it. Pakistan has been a slave from the beginning to the Arabs and the West, so they are not used to an independent Pakistan.

Every government first and only job is to protect and advance the interests of its citizens. No one else. No one!

True, but Modi’s India has been trying to portray itself as a potential US ally on the level of Japan, for which the US would demand India fall in line on its Russia policies, and India has been visibly reluctant. At least when the US courted China in the 80s to distance itself from the Soviet Union, both sides were more realistic about the prospects for the relationship.

If the US is dumb enough to believe that India will fight Russia and China on the side of the US, then the US has only itself to blame. India will exploit this US delusion to the max to get advanced weapons and technology. That is smart foreign policy by India.

There is a certain segment of the US that wants to convince the majority of the US establishment that India can be used to do so. That segment is losing the argument and the delusion is being dispelled.

NO actually, India has never supported any activity against Russia and will never support in the future.

Only we are limited with China, because our relationship is not good. And, the enemy of enemy is friend.

But, our national interests come first and the reason our trade with China is very much high and also, the west knows about our trusted relationship with Russia. We can not ditch to Russia for the West at any cost.

The west and USA also openly acknowledged this..

Yes, US-India strategic partnership really needed and helpful for India to get such sophisticated and advanced weapons. And, yeah --Thanks to china for this

India was mostly non aligned during the cold war but did take USSR's help to confront usa during the 71 war.
India is a complex country with varied opinions but on our regard for erstwhile ussr , all political parties and the bureaucracy share the same viewpoint.
India remembers Russian support since independence , not only with words , but actually sending warships to confront the 7th fleet.
India was dependent on US pl480 food aid in the 50s and 60s. But because we were non aligned, we supported Vietnam. The famine aid was stopped by usa. Even the American ambassador to India asked their administration to re start the aid, but they didnt to teach India a lesson.
Western duplicity and double talk is pretty clear to Indians, we dont trust them a iota .
Pakistan took full advantage of our reticence and got lots of aid by joining the western pacts. The result is their for all to see.
