Imran Khan should be given a chance to be president

Even If PTI doesnot win a single seat in the 2013 elections, Still Imran Khan is the only Saviour of PAKistan, and PTI is the only plateforum to stand and fight for the rights of the commoners !!!

I like him, he is a good guy with a charismatic personality. A bit like Benazir Bhutto. And like her, I don't know if he is willing to tackle the extremism problem inside the country which has now become the gravest threat to Pakistan. All in all, he is someone I like, but he is unproven & untested. I could very well turn out to be wrong, & I hope I do if he gets elected as the PM/President of Pakistan. I hope he realizes that Pakistan taking an isolationistic policy is not good for the country, & Pakistan needs more friends right now, as it has more than enough enemies inside the country in the form of these terrorists.

standing for your rights may lead to some hardships, but that would be in right direction, unlike the current and previous government who oppressed the commoners for no good but just to concentrate power into their hands, and that all too in wrong direction.

are we willing to face hardships in the right direction? by the way he never asked for Isolationistic foreign policy... All he says is to take your own decisions in your own interest... and accommodate not hate policy to deal with internal problems.

I remember IK saying that, US of A can be convinced diplomatically to stop drones but what he emphasised on is the will, the will of the establishment is needed to convince them but unfortunately the present diplomats are not willing to do it. And he did say that, if the US of A doesn't stop on diplomatic talks as well, then, ''Aisi Baigharti say Behtar hay Hum Mar Jaaye''. He did mention India as well; that, they are not our enemies and yes we've a conflict over Kashmir which needs to be resolved and India should stop killing the innocent people. Also, he brought Shia and Sunni scholars together too which none of the leader so far has done. Too many good things about IK and the list could go very long...

So far I've convinced 7 hardcore Bhutto Jiyalas into supporting Imran Khan, and my struggle is on... Vote for Imran Khan to save Pakistan.

I'm a big fan of you, your posts. I follow them very keenly on this board but I respectfully disagree with what you have posted above.

Look at it this way - If he had accepted Musharaff's proposal, he would not have been able to implement his agenda because he would have had to play on Mushraff's pitch, and by his rules. How many prime ministers did Mushy changed in his 10 year long tenure? What happened to all of them?

IK chose not to have any shortcuts in his struggle to become prime minister of the country and reform this society unlike every other power hungry politician of this country.

wrong example and wrong analogy. If IK had accepted Musharraf's offer he would have been classified in the same league as Musharraf - as a thief who snuck in using easy way - as a coward who didn't run in a political election and became PM of the country under the hand of dictator.

A country's prime minister, under a legitimate democratic process, is elected by the people of that country through their votes. That is the legitimate democratic way. Not some referendum, do you accept me, check box Yes or No. Making deals with a dictator, who tarnished the country's constitution and imposed himself on people, to become PM of the country is akin to not only whitewashing the dictator's crimes but also becoming one yourself.

IK would have tarnished his image by accepting and such offer, like the gadhas of PML-Q did. They have no credibility, no say left whatsoever, every time they come on to criticize PPP, people say, hey, you were the one in cahoots with Musharraf.

If Imran Khan wants to fight the good fight and solve the country's problems, he's gonna do it and he's doing it through country's legitimate democratic process. Vote for him to bring him in, not some shady deals with the dictators.

Everyone has their own thoughts about Imran Khan, I came across a video of Mr. Imran his thought in a talkshow.

What he was trying to say was US can sit and talk with taliban and that is Ok with everyone and the world, but if mr. Imran wants to talk with taliban its a bad thing and Imran is labelled pro taliban. This is something to think about, open your minds gentlemen attacking won't solve problems, musharraf is no saint as well his blunders are great as well...

I think people over here are going extreme ways in their thoughts, We have tested and tried everyone and all have failed Pakistan, there is no question about mushraaf govt economic policies did some wonders but the graph went down as well and you people cannot deny that. Mr. musharraf might want to sincerely fix his wrong doing in the past but one thing has turned out right that everyone most of them from his previous Govt ditched him so he too is beginning from the scratch. Mr. Musharraf initiated it wrong atleast he could in joining WOT with the US and world could waived Pakistan's debt and it was well with-in his reach he could do it by asking the world. I just want to know what have we gained economically by joining though now it has become our War still musharraf is answerable to his policies.
I would have sided and voted for musharraf if He had:
- Waived Pakistan major debt from US/World to join WOT
- Got a better deal in the start so Pakistan could get more Funds to fight War
- Could get more and superior equipment from US to fight War

All three didn't take place, and Yeah just to give 1 logistics Air Base Turkey got $10 Billion dollars from US for Iraq War, that is is how you deal with the americans impressively like Turkey.
