There's no harm in dreaming. Would be a miracle if PTI scores over 10 seats in next elections, let alone ''sweep'' the elections. Who's gonna pay taxes in this Banana Republic? And taxes is pretty much all he's relying on.
I don't think he is being dishonest. At most you could say he is avoiding being too specific on controversial issues. He will honor Islamic values. If someone thinks Islamic values require the hudood ordinance or mandatory burqas, they are in for a surprise, simply because mainstream Pakistani society -- especially IK's base which is progressive, educated youth and urbanites -- will not tolerate it.
Well at least he has some revolutionary plans in his head.
What exactly is the economic plan?
This is work in progress. We have developed a basic framework to improve the economy which is actively being worked upon by our think tanks, an overview is due to be presented shortly in a handbook form listing our directional thrust, which will be backed by a full financial plan in May 2013.
Ik said in To the Point that he'd put no rules about women's clothing (Though he didn't say he wouldn't make rules about lack of the same )He shouldnt allow women to run around wearing normal clothes. He should make them wear TENTS! -er I mean burkas
Bhai,
Pakistan is a nation with global significance. What happens in your nation will make its effect in the world specially in india. We aren't bothered about what happens in Nauru or Burundi as it won't affect us in anyway. But pakistan is not in the same side. BTW,kindly reply in english bro!

I second your opinion and was actually saying the same thing, i didn't like Asim going on the defensive immediately with the word 'Islamic' there is nothing wrong in what Imran Khan has said there. I think that he is becoming more of a politician (in positive sense since u should know how to do politics for success), by not saying things too openly and trying to rope in the orthodox bunch too.
After all being Islamic (in true sense but not the twisted version peddled in media) in Pakistan, is your connection to your roots as your country is majority Muslim. You can't become a great leader just by wearing posh wear and talking slick language and chanting 'do all good' quotes. In politics its not the minority 'middle class' that matters as they don't vote much or don't weigh much in terms of effect. It is the lower classes who vote more actually (irony being they are less educated but know the value of vote more than educated classes) and these guys might be orthodox along with liberals. You have to play for both, while actually doing what you want to do.
Imran khan might be the 'Pied piper of Pakistan' without that twisted end.
I was being sarcastic, you sick mullah minded creature. Freedom means complete freedom(i mean not in the streets) we cant dream to make pakistan a tourist place without such freedoms
But Imran Khan's appeal to the educated middle class also includes his proud embrace of an Islamic identity -- it's not just for the religious poor.
But Imran Khan's appeal to the educated middle class also includes his proud embrace of an Islamic identity -- it's not just for the religious poor. The liberal fascists, as we call them, in Pakistan have swallowed the Western caricature of equating "Islamic" with extremist. They are so ashamed of their identity and desperate for Western approval, they cringe with shame every time a Pakistani wears a hijab or has a beard or says the word "Allah hafiz". They are the opposite extreme of the religious extremists, and Imran Khan has sensed the pulse of the nation to steer a middle course between these two extremist groups.
I'll give you a non-Islamic example that we can both identify with. As you know, we eat with our hands. This is our culture, our tradition, and nobody thinks twice about it. When some south Asians go to the West, they feel they have to use cutlery at every occasion and must never use their hands. Watching these hapless souls is always fun. After some time, people realize how silly this is and there is nothing wrong to use our traditions proudly, even in the finest Indian restaurant. (Obviously you wouldn't eat spaghetti with the hands.)
You're underestimating the corruption in the country.reminds me of Obama's "yes we can" before the elections...Imran is trying to just emulate it..........90 days is overestimating ones own capabilities....it would take years even if he tried........
Imran Khan: If elected, well create an Islamic welfare state

Imran pledges to end corruption in 90 days
* PTI chief says Pakistan needs a govt that changes system and breaks begging bowl
By Asad Farooq
KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, on Sunday, pledged to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state if his party came to power, and promised a state where justice would be ensured on grass roots level.
Addressing a big convention at a ground adjacent to the Mazar-e-Quaid, the PTI chairman told the crowd he was forming a team to formulate policies, notably aimed at alleiviating poverty We want to break the begging bowl once and for all, he said, and make Pakistan a true Islamic welfare state. He hit out at President Asif Ali Zardari, claiming his days were numbered and accusing him of policies that encouraged corruption.
He said his party would solidify judiciary on priority basis, and promised free of cost justice on peoples doorsteps, adding that all the systems in government departments would be computerised to check corruption. Khan said that he would introduce an exemplary team, which would be honest and capable. He said that party ticket would be granted on merit to only those candidates who will declare their assets. Later, if someones assets grow, he/she would be asked to make a declaration. That mechanism, he said, would prevent legislators from getting involved in corruption.
The PTI chief further said that corruption prevalent in the country would be eliminated within 90 days of his partys coming to power, and said it was not a tough task for him. He said that in present situation, the country bears a loss of Rs 3000 million every day. He announced that his party would form a free and fair accountability cell, free of political pressure, and vowed to end political interference in police department.
All roads in Karachi near the rally venue were jammed for more than ten hours, an AFP reporter said, and hundreds of thousands of people waved party flags when the former Pakistan cricket captain arrived. I promised to all you people that well make a new and respectable Pakistan. Join me to achieve this goal, he told the crowds, full of people waving the green and red flags of his opposition Movement for Justice Party.
I have been an honest cricketer who never fixed a match. I promise you that Ill never fixed a match either during my political career, he said, brushing aside speculation his rise had tacit support from the military establishment. Imran Khan said that he will do everything which Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah would have done, and would never beg from foreigners. He said his team would present outstanding and revolutionary policies on all subjects, including local government, foreign, transport, economy, agriculture, and particularly education. He said that a unified educational system was his dream.
