Sooner or later, politicians by virtue of their profession begin flying solo and developing differences with the military establishment. When my friends were celebrating electoral "victory" after the overnight collapse of RTS in 2018, I told them that Imran's time would come. Your celebrations would turn into disgust and agony. They did not understand it then. They did not understand that only one thing in Pakistan remains certain.
There is no salvation for Pakistan other than depoliticizing armed forces and no political gernail would ever surrender power. People of Pakistan have to make them submit and make examples out of such characters to deter future grade 21/22 government servants from treading the same path as the people of Turkey did. Until then, we would continue witnessing an ever-pacing decline of Pakistan in every facet of national life.
