Imran Khan compares his struggle with that of Bangabandhu

There are no countries on the planet or in the history of the planet where the Army has led a country to prosperity

We have a representation of armed forces here in this forum. I ask you all, can you quote a single example where army did national development? Who do you think lead China to prosperity? How about Korea? How about Japan and Germany?

You have pushed your thesis for 70+ years and failed yourself and this country. Stop. Please stop being usual self for 10 years. You are children of same mothers as rest of the countrymen. Give your brothers a chance. Stop participating in political affairs.. you can guard boundaries of Pakistan. Do your job there.

Nobody here is saying Army is innocent, they have their fair share of blunders.

To all PTI cult followers, think for a moment, what has IK done for this country when he was in power other then talk? Nothing, IMO. When he talks about justice i laugh in a sad way. Do i need to remind you how many incidents took place during his government?
Now that people have started to quesion about his tenure, he comes up with bs like "i didnt have any power, was just a pawn". Awaam ko phuddu samajte ho?

We need a restart, but not with current lot. They are all faces of the same coin.

While I agree military should not interfere in political matters, your opinion doesn't have complete merit. These are examples of some of the most successful dictators in the past century.

Adolf Hitler - Germany
Mustafa Kemal Ataturk- Turkey
Francisco Franco - Spain
Juan Vicente Gomez - Venezuela
Gamal Abdel Naser - Egypt
Deng Xiaoping - China
Park Chung-hee - South Korea
Lee Kuan Yew - Singapore
Muammar Gaddafi - Libya

not sure if its a coincidence
but BD's economic progress happened after it got out of the stronghold of a select few

That is no coincidence. That is a fact and reality. Something most pakistani or atleast those who matter still does not accept.

You might be suprised to learn this is a very common sentiment in Pakistan, that Mujib should have been declared the winner and allowed to form a government. This sentiment is held across the board, I've heard it many times, not just on TV but also amongst the people.
You guys only get to see a certain segment of Pakistani population on pdf.

Bro, 90% of Bangladeshis are pro Pakistan. Look at the support pak cricket team gets. It made Imran Khan literally cry!!!

Stupid PDF Pakistanis are the ones who are in denial!!

This naked grab for the Kursi by a proven incorrigible liar and a petty thief comparing himself to Mujib is a sick joke.
Give him a little more rope and he will compare himself to Mao or Lenin.

Stick to Ghandhi!

Mujib is our leader and founding father.

Stop trying to hijack him for Hinduvta.

He hated Hinduvta and fought for Pakistan. Was a foot soldier of Jinnah.

Even hugged the vile Bhutto in the name of Muslim unity.

I am fully aware, I've known few Bengalis in my life.
I think this year or last, I saw Pakistani flags being displayed in a cricket match by Bangladeshis in Bangladeshi, a match between Bangladesh and Pakistan, it felt like for them it was a match between two brothers. Because you only show a flag of another country if you know the society won't mind. To be honest I was a bit shocked myself.
I thought about starting a thread showing the video, but then didn't. It was by an Indian studying medicine in Bangladesh.

Most people here are ignorant, they don't know any better. Also, you guys don't know how much blame is accepted by Pakistanis about our parting, I think you'd be pleasantly shocked if you could be a fly on the wall. But anyway, hopefully our leadership will grow a braincell or two and start on the road to good relations. It feels like an emotional dam, that's waiting to burst, any misunderstandings that do exist will disappear overnight.

There should be a lot more tourism between our two Pakistans.

That’s the only way…

Tourism becomes hard when the governments are not talking properly, ultimately people take their cues from the governments. As you can see here on pdf, people are easily misled, once the environment changes, people feel more comfortable to take further steps.

Take me as an example, I managed to visit around 20 countries in my younger days, I wanted to visit Bangladesh but didn't feel comfortable, I didn't know better. I assume most people are the same, and our media on both sides don't pay much attention to each other, at most you'll get political news, nothing more. All this makes tourism very hard.

Notice how mostly Indians, PDM supporters, and now the army brats are usually on the same page.
wait - I can understand a political party siding or having same ideas as an enemy country but the army? i think thats a bit too far.

Could be worse… some people chose modi

A mass murder , a anti Muslim bigot and some one who lies on national TV

.
Pakistanis and Bangladeshis live together side by side in Birmingham UK where I grew up .
Nursery together , school together , madrassa together mosque together work together eat together and if need be fight together .

I know some on here won’t like this but it’s reality .
There is no distinction in every day living & has never been trouble between the two communities & are the closest to each from all other communities by faaaar .

These leaders were successful mainly because of their leadership and managerial skills rather than military backing.

Democracy and martial law are both ineffective forms of governance for poorly educated nations. You need patriotic civilian leaders who are confident and know what they are doing.

I respect your opinion, but do you mean there is a dictator who leads a country to prosperity? Gaining popularity as a military leader is different from leading a nation to prosperity. If you allow yourself, look at who are the top performing nations on the planet today, then ask if they are being led by military or civilian experts?
