Most of Pakistan's population is under the age of 30. We were not even born during the 1971 war. Why should we apologize for something we didn't do. I disagree with Imran Khan here. Our ancestors should have aplogized in the 1970's not 40 years later when most Pakistanis never even set foot in East Pakistan (Bangladesh).

Aggregated point is, the families whose innocent family members were killed still feel that PK-army brutally killed them. They hate PK for that and think that it was only PK's fault. So the point is to make them happy and make strong relation and understanding between two countries, if GoP is interested. And I think PK has some responsibilities here.

You should not see it as your mistake ... or why you ... why not generation before you...
We all carry good and bad deeds of our previous generations ... and out next generations will carry ours...
Think as nation as family ... a well in your house may be build by your grandfather... you are drinking water from it for many years .. did you thanked him ... one day you will fall in it (you will come out safely don't worry) will you say bad words to your grandfather ........

WTF? We should go there and apologize them? It was Bhutto who messed up everything and blamed Army for it, Army still did well and didn't do much damage, They killed Pakistani army men and Pakistani army fought back, it's like asking Pakistan to ask forgiveness from terrorist 30 years from now, now having said that, We agree that Bangali were not terrorist but they fought Pakistani army against Pakistani government which had a bad mouth person called Z A Bhutto. for those who blame Army must watch this,

now after this i would say that During Musharraf' time Pakistan indirectly apologized by saying that 1971 incident was bad for Pakistan, for both east and west, now that it is history, we should not repeat mistakes and act like brothers, We should forgive each others, Now that was coming out of Pakistan and army together so this is enough, We have one moron laying down to india called nawaz sharif and second to bangladesh, After Musharraf visit Pakistan worked close with Bangladesh, we worked on many sectors, we paved ways between china and bangladesh on defense sector, we offered them military equipment help. we have done enough and still doing more, When people like imran talk about Pakistan asking forgiveness they should say that Bhutto family should apologize who destroyed Pakistan, the above link is one of the addresses. By apologizing we are not making the statement that whatever happened to West Pakistanis at that time was appropriate. We are just being the bigger man and saying that alright we made some mistakes and we ain't really proud of them. Maybe Bangladesh will also follow suit then and apologize as well. We so often ask India to show a bigger heart because they are a bigger country, well here Pakistan is the bigger country and we need to show a big heart.

Brave men wear their errors like medals on their chest, only cowards hide behind excuses.

Well if anything yes we need to apologize to pakistanis left in camps in Bangladesh , and nothing more -
